Topic about wearing proper gear ... the part about the guy losing his butt sliding cuz' he was only wearing jeans was really disturbing (i pretty much never ride without leathers any more, even around town) ...

There's some pix ...

I can't wait to get the leather pants for my hein gericke jacket... the suit I have right now is super huge on me and super unflattering ... the waist is in the middle of my hips so I just look ... wrong.

I can't ride on the freeway without leathers ... it just freaks me out. Im' okay going to work and back (it's 4 miles) but I always wear my jacket, boots and stuff and keep my speed in moderation ... (well ok, every now and again, i have some weird bug and go 80 on the 1 mile section of hwy 12, it's become rare that i hit 80 ever ... stupid norcal is slowng me down ... gar)

That guys right about the scrubing being worse than the road rash. I had a minor burn a while back that needed treatment, it didn't hurt much to actually get burned pain was harsh but momentary. But at the hospital I had this nurse scrubing the fuck out of my arm, I actually started begging for her to stop. This was a small burn I can't imagine someone getting a sensetive part of their body or whole limb scrubbed like that. Gotta love the cow skin!

Ive had road rash scrubbed out from a bad bad moto crash (dirt) and they use one of those plastic bristly brushes to get the dirt & gravel out of the skin & muscle

- you think that the crash hurts, and that it bleeds when you eat it

- but when she re-breaks open all of those wounds, and uses a fuckin plastic bristle-brush to literally scrub out the open wound - it brings a whole new meaning to intense pain. My dad had to sit on me and hold my arm out so i didn't get up and go ballistic. i still have the scar on my forearm right by my elbow on that soft part, its about 2x3 inches - damn that brings back memories..

Wear your friggin gear people!!!

So, always wear your gear, and remember...

Don't fall 35 feet onto a WROUGHT-IRON FENCE! (http://www.retecool.com/sukkel/index.html)

I'd imagine those would be severely intense photos for people who knew him (like family) to see ... his face looks like it's going to start moving. I wonder if his face was in such a relaxed position or if they changed it when they came upon it ... (closed eyes and stuff).

I'm not sure. All I know is, I'm wearing my leathers and gear everywhere, and I'm not going near any raised freeways or bridges with wrought-iron fences below.

The woman landed on the fence and two spikes punctured her buttocks, Blair said.

I guess this stuff happens pretty regularly.

Looking at those pictures prompted me to shop for motorcycle boots. Just ordered a pair of Joe Rocket Blasters on e-bay. Have Dragon Jeans, but plan to buy some leathers.

That's it, I'm never going to a bar without a back protector. How is that group buy going?
