I've never wanted a bike as much the new Daytona. Here it is fresh from the dealer, it was an early birthday present to myself

Very nice, I've seen a few of them at the track, and while i know it's a good 90% rider, they are definently being extremely competitive

Thank you thank you. The color is what I fell in love with, under the sun it just emmits so much bling and sparkle:eek:

very nice bike.
Very nice! So how bad is the break-in period?
If you're not doing anything with the SV, can I have it?

At first it's suppose to be under 5k rpm for 300 miles, 8k rpm for 300-600 miles and so on. But the guy at the shop did say that it's pretty much BS and it's best to vary the rpms and it should be fine. Anybody have input on this?
dasesq, I never thought I'd say this, but the SV will now be the "beater"
The break-in period is always a controversial topic, some say stick to the manufacturer's recommendation, others say different stuff. Read this and decide yourself:

Thanks for the link. Looks interesting, I'll have to read it all once my engineering homework is done;)

That bike is so gorgeous that I could overlook the hideous efluvetic dehydrated urine color.

Black, gray, and red are colors seen on almost any bike. I can't stand that! Thats why I had to go with "urine." No but really, it has to be under the sun to really appreciate the gold-like color. When it was in the dim showroom I thought it looked like crap, but the next morning when he pulled the different color bikes out under the sun, I had to go with the Scorched Yellow. It's a love it or hate it type color. A lot of people may hate it, but thats part of why I love it. ;)
Nice.
So its coming down to either the 675 Daytona or the GSX-R750 for everyone ...
Not suprised :D
They feel great don't they, and the engine growl...
Keep an eye on the oil level.
A couple have seized engines due to them using a fair bit of oil and not getting checked regularly (sorry)
The bike, of course, is awesome! Congrats.
BUT I really have to thank you for helping me out with an answer to my question.
I have really been looking at an '02-04' Frontier Crew Cab, but I was doubting the shortbed would hold a bike okay. According to your pics, IT DOES!! Awesome.
Thanks, man!

I love the front fairing!
I want one just so I can paint teeth on it and do the front fender red so it looks like it's screaming.

Cool :groove:
It just barely fits in there...but it fits!
Slight hijack:
How do you like the truck?
If you had it to do over again, would you buy the V6 or 2.4L?
Auto or Manual?
4x4 or 4x2?
It never hurts to hear from someone who's been there already.

Really? Is that normal for the bikes to consume oil. That's not the first time I have heard of this. What's your experience like?

It's pretty damn reliable. I got it new in 2002 and have never had a problems with it whatsoever. Mine is the 3.3L V6 4x2 Auto. However, I wish I had a 4x4. I've been stuck in very loose dirt twice and it was rather embarrasing:o
