I was just wondering if there were some tracks that don't let you do a track day or race a salvaged title bike. Do you they even check your registration. Another thing if you have a bike strictly for track use can you non-op it rather than have to register it.
Thanks for fixing the forum Kurt :D

Why would that be in issue? That makes no sense. Most race bikes don't even have insurance of any kind on them.
The track day organizers that I've ridden with never ask about title history. I don't think any organizer would ever prohibit you from riding a salvage title bike because some bikes are track only since day one so they will never have title history.

I don't know how tracks usually work. Sorry Kurt about the noobie question but I will be looking for a track bike in the future and wanted to make sure I have all the bases covered. I didn't know if some tracks made you show registration or what not. Thanks for the response though.

Don't worry about Kurt...that was his nice tone.
Your bike needs to be in good riding condition to pass tech...the title status doesn't matter. Check the FAQ section for most track day orgs and you should get a better idea. Basically, you need new or close to new tires, brakes working well, chain adjusted properly, throttle spring working, and the rest is mostly just eyeball checking by the tech folks.
Oh, and make absolutely sure your oil plug and filter are on and tightened. The quickest way to make a bunch of enemies at a track day is to oil down the track.

Most folks seem to skip any sort of registration and keep just a bill of sale on hand. I have my SV race bike registered as a planned non-op and have a title for it. I figured that will make it way easier to sell when that day comes.
WERA makes you list the VIN number of your bike on the registration form and they confirm the bike you are racing matches the form. This way they have a record of what VIN numbers are racing. I don't think they run checks on all the bikes, but if there is ever a question, they have the records as to who raced which VINs when.
wera requires vin number on entry form.
most my bikes are owned by progressive insurance :)
