I just found some very loopy roads up near Mulholland & was thinking, maybe another group ride.......?

You end up making that ride Saturday from Motomorphic? Or find some good roads while exploring (at least try those suggested by Norcal)?

Anyway, welcome back, we gotta do GMR again soon ;)

(Nate, did you try Latigo Cyn Rd up to Mulholland (Kanan, actually)... Great road, and a lot of it was newly paved :D )

No, I've never been on Latigo, though a buddy of mine keeps talking about it.

I took Topanga Cyn to the town of Topanga, then went north or west on a side street that went to the top of the mountains (very loopy) and into the clouds, and then took Stunt road down to Mulholland to the Rockstore, then up more twisty to another side road (very twisty), and then back again.

Wow. Discovered what it's like having both tires slip at the same time. Slid them breaking in a turn, and also just in a turn. Kept breaking my rear loose by downshifting. Am I riding poorly, or just exceeding my tires limit fnally?

Maybe some new skins for my wheels. I'm still on my stock Metz

Nat, you shouldn't be braking in a turn... it will make you slip... Also, don't downshift in a turn unless you're matching revs really well, cuz you might lose the rear...

My $0.02 anyway. You probably need some better rubber too though...

(PS - to those really good riders, i.e. not me, I know you can brake or downshift in a turn if you do it carefully, but I'm not that bold)

Nate, if you are breaking the tire loose by downshifting you have not slowed the bike enough yet to need to downshift. Or you just need to let the clutch out a bit slower.....
