Here's the one pic that Mike and I got up at Palomar today (4/2/03). You can't see it in the photo but we were fah-fah-freezing up there. Nothing like a hot exhaust can to warm your fingers. Thanks to the BMW rider who took the photo. Those thermal gloves and heated grips must be nice.

Hey, my First Gear overpants were nice and toasty. But definately put the liner back in my jacket for tomorrow.

That was one of the coldest trips I had! CPM F4 says that it was nothing compared to the trip to palm springs. The worst part was as soon as we got down off the mountain the sky cleared up and it warmed up! then we both wanted to ride! We had a blast doing a couple of 120mph blasts down to 0mph coming to stop lights. CPM looked like he was practicing his stoppies! Right on for coming out with me! I had a cold (I mean good) time!

Damn....looks like no one else was there.

Did you guys have the whole mountain to yourself??

I think that alone would be worth braving the cold.

(only 1 more untill 100 posts...:squid: :squid: :squid: :squid: :squid: :squid: :squid: )

There were two other riders that day but it really wasn't worth being up there. Staying tucked in trying to stay warm while on twisties isn't all that fun. At the end of each run our fingers were completely numb and our legs were cramping up and this is all with thermals on.

I had a similar ride to the top of Mt Laguna. Was 38 degrees by the time I arrived and I was not dressed for it.

Jonny... can you spell hypothermia??

Put on a few more layers for the ride home and swapped my new Held gloves for ski gloves and was fine.

One of my first times up Palomar was when it had snow up there ... and I was not wearing appropriate attire ... I was so freakin' cold ... the ride back to Ramona (where my friend i went with lived) was horrible too ... I took a hot shower and my knees were still cold to the touch after ...

heh.

Sadly, it can be like that, just around town, for days here ... I had no idea what I was complaining about then.

Electric vest! I just ordered one and will be happy to review it when I try it out.
