I was at Chapparral in San Bernardino and they have some good ones in reasonably priced range (100-250).

go check out hammy boys on lincoln in santa monica, if you're relatively near. they have a great selection of leather and textile, are great guys, and will hook you up w/ a good deal, they'll match or beat pretty much anyone's prices. I got my Joe Rocket Speedway there, I'm loving it.

I have the Suzuki gel seat. I love it but I have nothing to compare it to. You are more than welcome to sit on mine.

I have a Sargeant seat, it's lower than stock, feels much better than stock to me. The shape is more of a bucket so you're not sitting so high up on all that foam. Much better feeling for my :ass:

I have researched this topic exhaustively..why? I was looking for a way to get more foot on the ground without having to muck around with my suspenson.
I've actually ordered a Sargent seat, but I sent it back. I primarily ordered it to lower my the ride height...it is lower than stock, but not by much, and for $225 or whatever it cost, it wasn't worth it. However, it was a comfy seat and the build quality is excellent.
Corbin: Many rave about this seat, but apparently it's not lower than stock, in fact some say it raises your effective seat height due to its width. I haven't had direct experience with it but would not buy it to lower the ride height.
Solution? $20 and a trip to your local, friendly auto-upholstery shop! I did this and got exactly what I wanted..a MUCH lower seat which is still comfortable. How? I had Angelo (the upholsterer) remove the stock foam and replace it with 1" high density foam, shaped pretty much like the stock foam. I also asked him to make sure the sides are angled for my legs to get to the ground easily. He did a great job, and I've been happy with my new seat height ever since, and I know many others have done this and raved about the results as well.
The cool thing is, I still have my stock foam so I can replace the foam if I wanted to. The seat is comfortable too for being cut down..I've ridden between L.A. and San Jose on it 3 times and my bum was not complaining (my knees did most of the complaining being in that position for so long).
If you want to go to the same shop I used, go to Angelo's Upholstery in North Hollywood and um, talk to Angelo. Hah. Nice guy too, and I think he'll give you a female discount like he gave Leigh..plus he does the work on-demand in about an hour (no appointment needed). It's worth it!!

that might work if i sent my ex wife but i dont think id get one. but ill look into that. thanks (i think)
im not really looking to lower ride height either i just dont like sliding forward on my seat so much.
I recently bought a leather jacket/pants combo from these guys. I thought the owners (wait until you can speak directly with them, rather than the idiot staff) were quite knowledgable and helpful in my selecting something appropriate. I think the prices were good, although I cared more about knowledgable service and getting the right gear for me.
..then again...what do I know...

Dan,
Do you think if I came to them with a leather jacket and pants, they could pretty easily fit a zipper between the two? If I can't get leathers my size (and can't afford Zcustom), I'm just going to have to get pants, and I don't trust the zipper Dainese put in my jacket...

I think any leather alteration place/tailor could easily do that.

Brad,
I am almost certain that Z-Custom could indeed sew a heavy spandex stretch panel between your jacket and pants. Are you looking to get on the track or something? Speaking of which, I still need to do this myself! (Stretch panel and get on the track hehe).
