yeah CHP is in full enforcement targeting sport bikes right now. so enjoy your ride and leave the track riding to the track.
I was up there on Sunday around 130p and only saw 1 CHP in the Wht Crown Vic other than that notta problem hit Mulholland, Encinal Cyn, PCH Neptunes, back to Kanan and not one other CHP/LASO etc...
i was there sunday too, i saw a bunch of retards hammering it through the tight part of mullholland.

I thought the title of this thread sounded like a pr0n0. Then reading zetec's link put a much darker tone on things.William Riggan’s leg was severed when a motorcycle smashed into him and propelled his bike into his son’s.Be careful out there. You see someone riding like a knob, not only will they die, they can take a fucking appendage of yours out and worse.
Shit!

Hey there guys... I happend to be on that ride in Malibu that you guys are talking about.. The accident actually occured on July 27th...
I also just sold my motard today and picked up a 03 SV1000s, so I figured it was time to join up here...
That ride was horrible though...
We had about 20 guys on motards and about half of us had ridden Malibu before...
I was riding 4th in the group and when we got to the end of Old Topenga canyon only about 14 of us showed up.. We went back and found insane carnage about 4 mi. from where we had started the ride...
What happend was one guy went wide and stuck an SUV head on.. his bike flew off the vehicle and hit his friend in the chest knocking him down and out... The father was 3rd in line and instead of running over the people going down in front of him he went directly into the SUV severing his leg and sending his bike flying into his sons face.. His son was still alive when they life flighted him and his father out of there, but didn't survive once they got him to UCLA... The father's leg was not able to be re-attached and the first guy that hit is paralyzed from the waist down... A truly sad day for eveyone who rides on two wheels...
The crazy thing about all of this is that we had just started and really weren't riding at all that fast of a pace... It just goes to show you that things can always happen and it doesn't have to be your fault for it to seriously ruin your day or your life.....
Anyways.. This whole ordeal was a significant factor into why I decided to sell my motard... I was riding GMR every other weekend and after this have seriously come to re-think how smart it is to use these canyon roads as race tracks...
Well I just wanted to give you guys some details... Happy and safe riding!!

Man, that is tragic.
Things like this always remind me of "The Pace" and "Pace Yourself" by Nick Ienatsch:

I'm sure this has been posted before, but it can never be read too many times.

Thanks for the further info I am still weary of Old Topanga...My manager told me to get to Santa Monica faster after work one night to take Old Topanga of course I thought it was like Topanga so every turn I could go about 15-20 over in my alltrac..The 3rd turn I almost skidded off the road...after that I took it easy there...but I still havent rode it on my bike yet...tooo much of a noob and I dont like riding Topanga (too many cars).
So sorry to hear that my condolences
