Just picked up the new Moto GP game for PS2 last night. Pretty freakin awesome game. Graphics are top notch, and theres enough different settings to keep anyone happy. Only downer is the REAL 03 line up isnt in there. No Colin or Nicky, yet. In the start up it shows the Kawasaki GP bike but you cant pick it, so im thinking theres some bikes/riders that can be unlocked somehow. I've started the season and am in 3rd so far, behind Rossi, and Checa. Hey, if rains keepin me off my bike might as well make the most of it:cool:
In case some of you were interested and don't have it yet, I saw Moto GP 2 for sale at wal mart for $20.

How can you hate on Walmart PB!?:p It took a while for the store to grow on me, but thats where I get most of my crap now. Some of the Walmarts are ghetto a$$ but the one by my house is nice.
Thanks for the headsup Q:D

.....do they have a version for the X-box?..........I thought they did........
.....but I can't find a copy.......
:D
Check out Toys r us... everytime I've been there they've had a copy of MOTOGP for X-Box. That is a kickass game.. the version on X-Box. You can actually do some 12 o'clock wheelies and stoppies.

I sold my POS X-box a while back... Give me Gran Turismo 3, Riding Spirits (I know it's dumb from what I hear, but oh well), and MotoGP 1-3, and I'll be happy.
The X-Box has all the 1st-person shoot-em-ups, but I don't care a lick about those anyway, so I need a PS2...
i got moto GP3 and it is awsome. some how i think i unlocked the naked bike on the last screen. the guy rides around in jeans and a brown leather jacket. i can only do small stoppies and wheelies on the ps2. damn sony.

I've got riding spirits and personally, I think its very cool. It takes a bit to get used to it.. but once you do.. its very very easy to play. there is a bit of a delayed reaction, but like I said, it takes a little getting used to..
Its a motorcycle version of Gran turismo. Oh, and if you are interested and haven't tried it yet... I recommend Grand Theft Auto Vice City. I have more fun playing with the motorcycles on that game than I do on any of the actual "motorcycle" games I have.
Anyone out there interested in selling thier POS X-Box?

How's MotoGP for playability? I love Vice City, but I just couldn't get the hang of Riding Spirits...
I've only had a chance to play MotoGP 3 briefly since I bought it, but my initial impression is that it's somewhere between Riding Spirits and Vice City. Vice City is a ton of fun, but not too realistic. Riding Spirits is more realistic, but not a lot of fun. Frankly, I think RS had a crap feel to it. I started to get the hang of it, but it just never really enjoyed it much. MotoGP 3 has a simulation option that lets you switch between a fairly touchy, more realistic control and a less realistic, more arcade style control. Both modes seem funner than RS so far.

Hey Q, which Walmart did you see Moto GP 2 for $20? I checked two different Walmarts, Target, and a Game Stop and could not find the 2nd one. So I just bought Moto GP 3:D

Is a 46" big enough?
And with my little living room, it's pretty easy to see (since you sit like 8 feet from the screen :D )
we might just have to make that happen

motogp3 is amazing. my roomate rented it and we've had a couple of 6-8 hour playing sessions. In simulation mode its incredible, as the bikes are actually touchy and you have to concentrate the entire time
I'd def. recommend it

Alright...Its too late for me to go looking at a local store... so if any of you have MotoGP for X-box and want to sell it, bring it to the maintenance day tomorrow.. 5/3/03 and I'll buy it from you.

Walmart sucks.
Why? It's run by Christians...that's not so bad in and of itself, but they censor CD cover artwork, lyrics and the latest stunt is that they stopped carrying magazines like MAXIM, at least that's what I've heard. I simply don't support their misplaced idealism, so I don't give them my cash.
I'd rather go to Target or some other store to get what I need. this isn't just about religion, I don't support anyone who does political stuff that I disagree with. Blockbuster video is another example of a Christian-run company I don't care to support...but they'll die anyway once we can download movies to PC's as well as our TV. I mean, who likes paying late fees anyway, or driving to Blockbuster just to find they're out of a particular movie?
Netflix.com is a MUCH better alternative to Blockbuster, and they don't discriminate as to which movies they think you should see, they have a wide selection, not just the 'Christian' Blockbuster crap.
Walmart sucks. So does Carl's Jr.

Yeah... That MotoGP man... It's kewl!
Is anyone taking their X-box to the Gathering? Or does Greg have one?
I just got my copy of MotoGP for the X-box. I won the auction and paid $35 including shipping for a brand spanking new, still in the plastic wrapper w/ the security tag on it... MotoGP. The game isn't as blinging as an all chromed out Busa with a big booty ho on the back... but its right up there...

Scientific proof... (shooter) games are good!
(Notice how they avoid mentioning the content of Medal of Honor?)

Video Games Good for Visual Skills
Video games have taken a lot of heat, blamed by some for triggering violence and fostering sedentariness. Now the results of a new study suggest that all those hours spent playing Grand Theft Auto3, Halo and other action-packed games might have some positive effects. Researchers writing today in the journal Nature report that the activity boosts attention-related visual skills.
Through a series of experiments, C. Shawn Green and Daphne Bavelier of the University of Rochester determined that habitual video-game players were better able than non-players to focus on visually complex situations, keep track of multiple items at once and to process fast-changing information. To rule out the possibility that their results simply reflected a tendency for gamers to be people with inherently superior visual skulls, the team subjected non-gamers to action-video-game training, in which they played Medal of Honor for an hour a day, 10 days in a row. Meanwhile, a control group was trained on Tetris, which, unlike Medal of Honor requires focusing on only a single object at a time. After that short training period, the Medal of Honor group exhibited improved visual skills.
"By forcing players to simultaneously juggle a number of varied tasks (detect new enemies, track existing enemies and avoid getting hurt, among others), action-video-game playing pushes the limits of three rather different aspects of visual attention," the authors conclude. "Although video-game playing may seem rather mindless," they add, "it is capable of radically altering visual attention processing." --Kate Wong

I have moto gp 2 for xbox. it is so freeeggginnn coool!!!!!!!!!!!
I am a little late here, but I have both motogp and motogp2 for XBOX, and I play them both live!!
It's amazing, actually I'm part of another newsgroup that organizes leagues of motogp, every saturday and sunday I'm racing live... it's completely different competing against the machine and competing against real people. And with the headset, is even more interesting to mock whoever you just smoked.

Ive heard the MotoGP for X-box is better. I think I might have to go out and buy an x-box now:D
It is really fantastic... the first version was already killer. Now they managed to make it even better. It's not an arcade, it's much more to a simulator.
The good thing about it is that when I watch the real motogp races, I know the circuit deep enough to anticipate which gear the guy should take that corner.... it's real fun!

I went out and picked up MotoGP 3 last night and its hard as hell, but I like it a lot. Problem is I do not have any throttle control. The PS2 buttons dont allow for much of it. Does anyone have any suggestions. This is all in the simulation mode. Without simulastion you can lay on the gas all you want and will not highside, lowside or wreck. I have nearly mastered Grand Turismo 3 (maybe not mastered but am doing pretty damn good) and the throttle control with my Team Oreca Viper. But MGP3 is a different story. I cannot seem to keep the bike from getting sideways in a corner. I do all my breaking early roll into the entrance of a corner and then start to try and apply the gas but the thing just gets sideways. I have tried to be in the upper gears to prevent too much power but that does not work either. Slight button pressure is not working either.
ANY SUGGESTIONS
The high speed stoppies are way cool.

My suggestion would be to change your setting so you're using the analog joysticks - left one for steering and weight shift, right one for gas & brake. It's a fun game, and the simulation setting is very difficult.

Works great
Enjoy motogp 3 even more.
I use the buttons since I found it easier to avoid highsiding that way. You can tap the buttons to get the amount of acceleration you want.
Try analog though. It does work well for a lot of people.

I got MotoGP 2 and 3 for ps2, I have not played it in a while, but I think I like 3 better. Have not played them on an xbox though.
I have motogp and motogp2 for xbox, it's really great (but still 2003 season). The nicest thing is the ability of playing Live. Most of the improvements from motogp to motogp2 was in live.
Cool! thank you guys for your input...
which is better PS2 or Xbox?
I don't have a PS2, so I cannot compare, but xbox absolutely rocks! At first, there were so few games, but now I think it's leveled (or almost). xbox has better graphics, internal hd (so you never have to worry about buying memory cards, unless you want to transfer stuff from one xbox to another), broadband centralized live system just to name a few.
and it has HALO!
now it's almost a month to releasing of halo 2, I cannot wait
Anybody here will play it live?
