SD Ride, Saturday 7/27

I call myself Vicente. I'm new to the group (24 hours old) and to motorcycling (8 weeks, 1200 miles). I live in San Diego in Pacific Beach.

Actually, I was into bikes before I was legal and did my share of dirt riding and running from the cops. I forgot how much fun it was (riding, not running from the cops, that is). I got married, got responsible and somehow told myself that I didn't like bikes because, I guess, that was what was expected of me.

Anyhow, that's all over now. Got rid of the wife and took on a mistress. She's naked, yellow and weighs 363 lbs. dry.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it. My question for the San Diego contingent of the Southern California riders is:

Does anybody have ride plans for the weekend?

But there is a garage painting party at my house on Saturday. You come to my house and paint my garage...... while I partay....

Painting the garage beats a sharp stick in the eye, but not by much. But, to each his own . . .

At 115 miles from Pacific Beach, GMR is a no-go for me. I'm thinking about Julian, Cuyamaca, etc on Saturday.

Anybody more-or-less local-to-San Diego interested in riding this weekend?

I may not be doing the GMR ride on Sunday, if I don't, I'll end up riding Palomar with my neighbor if you want to meet up for that. I'll know by Saturday if I am gonna do GMR.

Proposal... How's this? 94E to Campo, 79N to Julian, back to I-8 on Sunrise Hwy. Meet at the Edwards Theater on the 94, early (before 9AM). Route is 165 miles total.

How about 8:30AM at the Edwards on 94 as it makes a right turn a couple lights after 94 freeway ends (it's at the green box in the map above)? Let's try to make it back around noon.

Hopefully we'll avoid those cagers if we go at it earlier.
