Hey Guys,

I went for a quick ride up to Palomar yesterday and discovered two new roads on the way home. I was following a group of Harleys and they turned down LILAC RD. I have riden Lilac before, but apparently it has been repaved in some section and goes all the way through to the 76 where it comes out by Pala. Anyway, it is a nice road with little traffic. While I was there I found COUSER (sp) CANYON RD. That was a sweet little road, but it is hardly perfect. The road itself is clearly a road less travelled and it shows. In my opinion it is more rider friendly than the fast side of Palomar interms of surface quality. The main problem with this road is that it very narrow in certain places with no room for errors. Overall it is not very technical and alot fun when riden with care. Both roads can be accessed form the 76 or from Valley Parkway in Valley Center. I'm sure you all know about these roads, but they were new to me. Enjoy.

I've heard of those roads, but I've never been there. Cool, maybe on the next group ride, you could lead us there. :D

Ya, those are great tight and twisty roads, but there's lots of driveways on Lilac especially. My folks used to live off of Lilac, I think they lost like four dogs and a couple of cats to cars that are always goin faster than the posted 25 around the blind corner they lived on. Its one those things I never thought much about, until their animals kept getting creamed.

Vivisibility was so poor around the corners, that it was scary just pulling out of the driveway in a car everyday. You're a sitting duck for some delivery truck screamin around the bend.

Definitely not a road to push it on, way too many blind corners and houses on that stretch.
