Yesterday, coming home from work I saw the most interesting thing. It was after I got off the Ortega in Lake Elsinore. I came up to an intersection, waiting to make a left turn. There were 2 individuals in front of me. Directly in front of me is an SUV. In front of him, at the front of the line was an individual on an R1. Beautiful piece of machine. Brilliant blue, polished aluminum frame, immaculate........ it shined.

The problem was that I was waiting forever because the traffic signals sensor was not picking him up (the R1 guy), the light just stayed red for the left turn. So I decided to pull up next to him to tell him what was going on, and to ask him to pull up into the crosswalk with me so that the car behind us can pull up far enough to where it will be recognized by the sensor and the left turn signal will be triggered. Whew..... got all that?. Surprise surprise....... it worked..... duh,... and we were on our way.

What was interesting was the rider of this splendid R1. When I pulled up to him, I got a good look at him........... hmmmm...... interesting. He was wearing shorts, a t-shirt...... and something I have never seen before on a sportbike rider......... a shiny chrome plated half helmet................. hmmmmm.............. interesting.

Apparantly you haven't been keeping current with the latest MSF safety news, but recent studies have proven (or rather disproven) safety gear. It's all capitolist ploy to get your hard earned $$. Safety gear is a waste of cashola. Look at it this way: you wreck in $1000 worth of gear and you have to go out & buy more gear. Which is what corporate America really, really wants you to do. Skin & bones heal for free while you watch TV & eat ice cream.

Don't buy into the lie that helmuts & leather are good for you. THEY AREN'T! You can't eat a helmut, but scabs on the other hand.........:squid:

I saw these guys on sports bikes, fuly painted obnoxious colors, wearing half helmets painted matching colors on the freeway once ... it was soooo WEIRD (and gross) ...

pastels do not compliment bikes (shudder)

Everytime I put on a half helmet, all I can think about is my face getting destroyed if I was to fall ...

ick.
