A little block showing current weather of various spots in socal, and link to a 9-day forecast is added to http://www.socalsvriders.com bottom left corner.

Personalize it by entering your zip code if there's a box (you need to log in). Change the zip code in your Profile (http://www.socalsvriders.com/forums/member.php?s=&action=editprofile) if you like to change the displayed weather location.

I hacked this together this evening, so let me know if there are any problems. The page loading speed might be affected, so I'm not sure if this Weather Block will stay or not.

nice paul, I was tired of going over to the hypercycles page to check the palomar weather all the time! (nothing against the hypercycles guys! :D )

Awesome Paul! Did the subtle hint during the KS lunch sealed the deal?! ;)

This should cut down my visits to SocalSportBikes (they're pretty cool too!) :cool:

Santa Monica/Malibu == Angeles Crest?

Anyway, you can add your own zip code if you are registered/logged in and get a cute little weather icon too.

Awesome. We have weather, we have the chatter box, we have the forums, and we have funky peeps.

All we need now is streaming porn videos and a direct link to Domino's Pizza online ordering and I have no reason to browse any other site. :D

I had to temporarily deactivate the weather block because of "Unexpected format. Our Data Provider's data format has unexpectantly changed."

I switched to another data provider (unisys), but the time to retrieve data is too long/slow.

[edit] seems like the original data provider is working again. -2PM
oh, and for streaming pr0n video, ask chuckiechz about it!

I see the weather advisor is there but I used to be able to get my weather in nor-cal on it too. Now I don't have the option of putting in my zip code. Paul????

Make sure you are logged in (the bottom right corner block should say, Welcome blk650... instead of giving you a login box. Or, at the very top, you'll see "Logout" and "Profile" instead of "Login" and "Register" as menu selection items).

If you are not logged in, it won't show the extra personalized weather. If you are logged in, it'll show either:
- a box to enter your zipcode if you haven't done so, or
- current weather in that zipcode, or
- note saying there is no data for that zipcode
plus the same stuff that was shown when you aren't logged in.

Try logging out, clear cookies and back in, see if it helps.

Instead of my home address I put in
Campo's zip 91906 so I'd have a better idea of the weather in that area
