You downloaded a movie from Winamp? From their web server? Using their application? I'm confused...

Anyway, was the race from a roll-on? If so, pretty impressive...it takes a whole lot of horses to pull away from a Gixxer 1k...with it's top speed of about 179mph. It also takes alot of power to pull away from a Gixxer 750 with it's 172mph top speed. Sorry, had to throw that in there. :D

The real skill test would be at the race track or drag strip. ;)

ya..i downloaded it from Winamp

its a rolling start at an unknown freeway speed. the GSXR's go wheels up at the begginning..but the bird is right there with them..and actually PULLS ahead!

really awesome.

the GSXR riders later both pull next to him at 70 or so and give him a thumbs up... cool :)

Actually, I think I know what movie you're talking about. The bikers are to the right of the vehicle when the first rider pops a wheelie and they both take off. The rider who's racing (and doing the wheelie) is not on a Gixxer 1k. The second guy is on the 1k but does NOT race. He would have blown by them easily.

I have that vid on my hard drive somewhere.

no? not a 1000? looked like one to me..and the drivers states it in the vid :S

perhaps he biased my view of it being a 1000?

can ya try uploading it then? for osme reason i get an error page when i do

I have that video - I'm pretty sure the guy who races the TransAm is on a Yamaha R1. Supposedly the TransAm has a twin-turbo kit installed on it. I don't know the HP, but it's probably north of 550 HP. :D

not an R1, it was the thunderace (YZF1000R, not YZF-R1). still not bad for an "old" bike

IIRC, the kid who owns the firebird had boltons he put on himself. i think the forced induction was put on later though (after vid was taken).

Ok guys, I uploaded the video to my Yahoo! briefcase account. To view the video Click Here (http://briefcase.yahoo.com/gleite311) and when you get there, open the 'video' folder to download the file. It's about 14 MB, so it may take a little while. Enjoy!

Yep, that is a really old video. Stingray is right, its a ThunderAce YZF1000R... still a cool bike :D

Ok, I watched the video a few times and I still don't want to believe that fine piece of American ingenuity beat a 1000cc bike like that, at any speed, anywhere.

Its still not clear to me, but do you think it 's actually a yzf600r Thundercat rather than the 1000 Thunderace?

Well it isn't like the bike got crushed.. he was doing a wheelie too. Probably not the fastest way to travel.

I think that car had either a turbo or a supercharger because of the extra gauges. You rarely have those without some serious engine work. You need to be making about 700 hp to beat a bke like that, maybe 500 at the very very least... and that is a lot of car... not exactly stock.

Besides, the bike world still has that twin turbo hayabusa with dumps that is floating around. I don't think that anyone can touch that thing. You need to see that video if you haven't.

I think that there is a site that is called streetraceflix.com or raceflix.com I think that they recently changed it so that you have to pay to download and their server sucks anyway.

I'd upload it here.. but I think that it is atleast a 20mb file which is pretty huge.

Cool vid though.
