I agree. Even though the guy seems like a dick, I kinda feel bad for him. With Val around, I dont know if he'll ever have a chance to win the MotoGP title.

well, he's kicking a$$ this pre-season.
As I'm thinking about a motard as a second bike.. I found this again.. I didn't realize that was Biaggi.. once I did I started watching it a little more closely.. that vid gives me goose bumps.. on that small track you see how wicked fast he's going. That's sick!!!! yeooow!!!!
I'm starting to like max a lot more after that!

Max is good, very good, but Vale is da man. Of course, Vale is on the Yamaha M1 this year, so Biaggi has a chance.
Then again, maybe not! Rossi is the Ninja mastah...he could prolly win with the Suzuki GP bike! :D

that's what this year is all about, man!! don't give it to him before he proves it to us. In testing this far he IS NOT the man. He's one of the pack now. And personally I think that Yamaha are FRANTIC (should be) in trying to pump up their bike's performance to get him out ahead.
As muchas it's up to him this year.. it's really up to Yamaha. People are going to scrutinize Yamaha much more than Val. If Val loses everyone is going to blame the bike!! Even Val said if he doesn't win a race this year that'll prove the bike/technology matters more than the rider.
Not that he's doing crappy in testing... but the M1 isn't new like the ducati.. although it may be completely redesigned ( V5 :p ) by the end of the season. So it's progress is going to be rather involved though maybe not neccessarily slow with the people and money they have put behind rossi's M1.
Rossi has been spectacular for sure, but this new test he levied on himself is really a cool opportunity.

Val is pissed that Honda wouldn't let him test for Yamaha when he was still under contract... His quote:
"That'll cost me four wins this season"
Good to hear he's got it all planned out... :D

That was such a shit move on behalf of Honda. I've got no respect for that WHATSOEVER. I'm buying an R1. Honda can suck it.

As much as Rossi will be hampered by the M1, Biaggi still won't win anything because there is too much competition for him from the other Hondas. Sete Gibernau is better on most tracks than Biaggi and Nicky Hayden is learning very, very quickly.
One thing is guaranteed this season: Biaggi will whine a lot.

I think he learned a lot from the criticism that he got last year for that stuff. He is one of the most consistent guys out there.
I've got a lot more respect for him after reading his bio.
I certainly don't expect him to be any more eloquent than he has been ;) but anyway I'd hope to see a few wins out of him actually.
This year is going to be awesome in any case.

I really like it when they slow down the footage to highlight the slide/skid around the corners. They must just tear through tires...sheesh!
Best part is the stoppie he pulls off before making a left hand turn! Very cool indeed...
I might look into racing these guys for myself. I hear they have Motard race nights out at the El Cajon raceway. Does anyone know about this?

well think about it. rossi's this generations doohan and arguably just as dominant. why would honda give rossi the head start he wants just so they have a higher chance to lose? granted, honda has ALOT of talent and money on their side buy rossi has that x-factor that seemingly no other rider has to pull out fast AND consistent laps. he's already yammie's fastest rider, besting checa's fastest lap @ sepang that got him 2nd only to rossi's pole position @ last yr's races.
it's so hard to predict who'll come out on top this yr. esp. w/ the amount of talent and riders on hondas this yr.
i'm rootin' for edwards. he's always gotten the bum deal from honda. already set the fastest lap @ phillip island, a track he knows but on "subpar" (compared to the "factory" HRC hondas) so it's lookin up for him. if rossi can come to grips w/ the M1, he should be on top yet again. then we'll know if it was always the dominant machine/rider combo or it really was rossi all along pulling it out.

It's about respect, man.
They told the greatest bike racer in the world he couldn't ride. Rossi is a wonder of the world, he's an artist!! Would you take a violin away from a violinist on a tecnicality? Life is too short for that kind of bullshit. Let's hear the music, baby.
In my opinion it's such a f----- load of s---. I'd never do it, I wouldn't care what the competitive advantage is. I just think it's wrong. It's denying the guy his life. Especially after the world championships he brought to Honda.
Contract my a$$, here's to honda: :ass:
Honda did the smart thing.
It what world of sports do you actively help your competition?

no way.
it boils down to 'winning isn't the only thing' a statement that some people (losers) will continually contest.
that was weak on their behalf and unsportsman like. that's some brat with a piece of paper in his hand telling him what he can and can't do. it's so weak. sun tsu would be ashamed.

Rossi will win a championship on the Yamaha. Probably not this season, but maybe in 05, and that will cement him as the greatest GP racer of all time. That is why it is good that he left Honda.
It's hard to one up Mick Doohan or Agostini as best ever. He'll certainly be a legend though.

i'm sure they realize the amount of talent rossi has on ANY bike, which is why they held him to his contract to the very end where traditionally, they'd normally let the rider go before the contract officially ends. says alot about what they think about rossi and his talents.
honda's never been generous, i don't see why they'd start now w/ rossi. i'm sure they would have paid almost anything to have rossi come back but it was rossi's decision to leave. lover's scorn maybe?  :p
think about it, if rossi got a head start and got the M1 sorted pulling out record pace laps in testing compared to their "star" honda riders like biaggi, gibernau, hayden, etc that they've paid millions for, wouldn't they try as much as possible to delay that?
name of the entire race game is to win sunday, sell monday. it doesn't help honda if rossi/yamaha is on the top box cause they were nice and let him do early testing.
i think it's the same attitude that gave hayden the GP ride ahead of edwards even though edwards was the (IMO) better candidate. edwards is considered old and isn't exactly tom cruise. hayden is young and attractive (or so people say). they shafted edwards and even now, aren't giving him as much to work with as the other honda riders. so the last thing i think honda cares about is bad PR from trying to win.

Heres some times from practice at Sepang track, I think this year it will be Rossi followed by Hayden and Edwards or Biaggi in the top 3.

Nicky is looking very immpresive, but so is Rossi, and Edwards, and many others.
I think this will be the most exciting season in many years, hopefully it will be anyway.
As much as I'd like to see Rossi win on the Honda, I'd much more like to see an american take the championship. But who???
I didn't expect much out of Nicky at the start of the last season, but he really immpressed me.
Oh I can hardly contain the excitement now.http://instagiber.net/smiliesdotcom/contrib/sarge/Sniffles_anim.gif

Kurtis Roberts :D
I predict Colin will start slow and then start to win races. It happened in 02' WSBK and I think his determination and equipment will take him all the way this year. I hope Rossi wins just to make Biaggi cry but I seriously think Colin will make it happen. I guess we'll have to wait and see!

Kurtis Robertsoh gawd...
i'd say either hayden or edwards for the US. they're both on bikes and finished up their rookie season last yr. hayden may have the edge as he's already familiar w/ the honda but we'll see. edwards is doing really well w/ what he's got.
