Hey Leigh, Kurt, and anyone else coming this way...

Where and when do you want to meet?

I assume those of you near HB will meet along there, I'm hoping we can find a meeting place near Lake Forest... Maybe here:

Saddleback Suzuki Sea-Doo
23034 Lake Forest Dr # E
Laguna Hills, CA 92653
949-770-6701

What do you think? Meet there about 7:30, leave by 7:45 (will that give enough time)? I figure it's 10 miles to Ortega according to my map, and then only 25 miles over it, which can't take more than 45 minutes->1 hr, giving us plenty of time?

7:30 sounds like a good time to meet you down there. Is Saddleback right off the freeway? If not, I'd rather meet you at a gas station off the 5. Of course I could look it up on Mapquest and answer my own question.

Easiest place for you guys to meet would probably be the gas station on the Ortega highway right off the 5. It is just east of the exit on the right.

Yup, that's good too. There's a Chevron and something else on the RHS as you go over the freeway towards Ortega. We have 3 more days to decide this, so we can take our time on planning this.

Alright, but if it's just a gas station, I'll need directions :)

Take the Ortega Hwy 74 exit, turn left ... there's a gas station on the right, AFTER Denny's (there's a gas station right in front of denny's, go to the right right after) ... I think ti's a 76 or something.

it will take you about 45 min. to get from the gas station on ortega to the 15 freeway. I rode through ortega to get to palomar last week and it took me 1 hour to get to murrita. your best bet is meeting at the 76 station at 7:30 and leaving at 7:45, just to be safe.

I might go and meet you at the gas station but if i dont let me warn you. From the gas station till you hit antonio parkway is a cops speed trap paradise. the speed limit varys from 40 to 45 go exactly the speed limit. its a double fine zone and a area they radar often.

One more thing to remember their is a code on ortega. if you get thumbs up from bikes the rode is cop free, speed at will. if they pat their hands down, like they were patting a dog their are cops some where on the rode, watch you speed. remember to give the signal to other bikes when you pass. it helps prevent tickets. thankyou from a regular ortega law breaker

I am an Ortega regular, so if you aren't sure of the area, just follow me ... I know where all the speed traps are, good places to pass ... etc etc ...

EVERYBODY in OC is an Ortega regular, which is why it's one of the deadliest roads in America (#4 I think).

Hm okay.

Everytime I've been out w/the SV group, the only other person who was familiar with it, and only the east side, was Setter ... and a lot of the other people I've ridden with haven't ridden it that much, if at all ... I must ride w/freaks ... lol.

I ride both the east and west side..............

I use it to commute every morning. Beats the 15 and the 91.

Regardless of how familliar you are with the road................ Ms. Ortega will bite you on the ass if you disrespect her.

Like Kurt said........." It's one of the deadliest roads in America".....

Show her some respect.

Cool, so I guess we're good for meeting at 7:30 at the gas station?

I'm seriously looking forward to Ortega, this new rear tire has some embarrassing chicken strips ;)
