Michael Reagan was on Hannity and Colmes tonight and Hannity brought up the fact that the dems had tried to recall Michael's dad twice while he was governor of california.

Recall elections happen all the time in california, the only shocks are that its the governor this time rather than city council or school board... and that there are actually enough people who want him out that they managed to get enough signatures.

This law has been established in california for nearly a hundred years, it has been used countless times, anyone who tries to deny that this is part of california politics either doesn't know what they're talking about or is betting that you don't.

If you haven't already, get out and register to vote (http://www.ss.ca.gov/elections/votereg1.html). You still have time.

My objections to the recall are:

1. The 60 or 70 million that the state has to spend on the recall could be better spent repaving our favorite roads (or hiring more paramedics, or staffing hospitals or funding airlift programs).

2.There was a recall just last year - called the 2002 election.

I'll probably vote for Angeline to protest this foolishness.

Remember, on Oct 7 you can vote "No" on the recall, and still vote for one of the candidates.

Don't forget to pick your favorite candidate when you vote, or we'll end up with Bustamante, and he's just as bad as Davis (If not worse).

Just saw this on drudge... seems pretty consistent with what I've been seeing elsewhere...

YES on Recall 55%
NO on Recall 40%

Alternative candidates:
Bustamante 30%
Schwarzenegger 25%
McClintock 13%
Ueberoth 7%
Others in single digit

The Field poll then asked the ballot without McClintock

Bustamante 31%
Schwarzenegger 33%

Must be in the biblical sense.

The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals just delayed the recall vote, because they're afraid we don't know how to deal with hanging chads.

Gotta hand it to the 9th circuit... I guess that nothing they would do will surprise me much anymore...

You'd think that the voting system used to elect Davis in the first place would be good enough to still be used, right?

Yup, seems to me that if the voting method is invalid, then so is his election.

Its all a plot to delay the election until the illegal alien drivers licenses take effect, and we get an influx of new voters.

They are talking about a new voting system that is just like the punch card except it uses ink instead of poking a hole.

How many times you been to the bank and all the pens were bone dry? I can see where this is going.

You might hear a name with these new voting machines... Sequoia Voting Systems... The company I work for makes the boards which power their entire voting system...

now if I could only find a way to hack it
