Sorry that I missed the wrench-fest, but my bike was in pieces around my garage... On the adgenda for my first big self-service:
1) BT010 / BT020 tires front / rear respectively.
2) Race tech 0.80 springs, cart emulators, and 20 wt fork oil
3) Fix coolant leak at thermostat body and hose connection
4) Shim carbs
5) New spark plugs
6) A really good cleaning.
Anyhow, I've got my baby hanging from the ceiling of my garage by 4 cargo straps and bits all over. The shocks are done and the damping rods have been retorqued; I just need to cut spacers and fill 'em with oil. I ended up taking one fork and the other damping rod to a local shop so that they could machine the new holes in the damping rods and use an air wrench to remove the damping rod I couldn't. The carbs have been shimmed but I chewed up the screw heads a bit. I think that I'll pull the brass plugs and adjust the fuel-air screws (thanks to Brad's heads-up on the EZBoard). All I have left is to reattach the carbs and do the fuel-air screws, finish the forks, change the spark plugs, and put the whole thing back together.
When I considered the wrench fest, I figured that I had so much to do and no way to carry my tools, that I'd just take my time in the garage. Thanks for all of the discussions here and on the EZBoard / SVrider.com, I wouldn't have even considered it without you guys (gals too).
Later,
Tim.
