Just wondering how everybody likes out new board so far. Looks like we have some new victim - er, friends here.
Anyone have any suggestions or opinions?
I have a few questions:
Can we get more "Smilies" to use?
How about different colors for the message board?
Oh yeah....
Where the hell are the Girls in Bikinis?!!

Leigh- How's the front end feel? Mine is soooooo much smoother. I still feel bumps and stuff just as much, but there is no bouncing around after the bump. It's just *bump* then it's done. No POGO! Yay!
ersigh

The bumps are more defined. The thing I didn't like before any of the work was done, was that the bumps were mushy ... now they are more defined.
I need to take it out in the canyons to figure out for sure if I olike it. I'll probably have to tighten the preload a bit ... but i'll wait to see.

I like the look and feel of this board, but the only question I have is, how many potential SV members are there in the So.Cal area.
Potentially several hundred, certainly, but realistically a lot less.
Perhaps the boards could be changed to broaden the scope. SoCal Suzuki Riders? SoCal Sportbike Riders? I like the latter more.

Gregg - did you do your springs, oil AND emulators?
Leigh - what did you do to yours other than swap the old spacers back in? Did you stick with the 20W oil or did you go to 15W?
ersigh
Wed 6/19/02, 10:51AM
I just changed the spacers ... and put the integrator kit thing on the rear ...
As far as changing this from an SV forum to a general Suzuki forum ... Why?
There's a reason for this forum ... no one is discluded from it ... if you want something more "general" to attract MORE people, go make one ...
(there's something in that idea that pushed a button so i'm going to just leave it at that ...)

This board is totally cool! I like it a lot...especially now that I have a silver avatar w/lowers thanks to the Nukester...
As far as making it a general board...I'm with Leigh...why? We are an SV group, and while we may overlap with Gixxer people in some ways, in other ways I suspect that we might be waaay different. From what I hear the SV is one of Suzuki's top sellers so there should be plenty of peeps riding them...we just need to let them know about our site. I see SVs on the road, just in my city, that I know are not participating here! I want to make up some cards with the website addy on it, that way if I see another SV I can give them one as an invitation...
Leigh - Yeah, how do you like the integrator? I wanna check that out...see how visible it is...

All I did was the oil swap. Took out the 5 and put in 15. I'll probably end up going with 20wt but will leave it at that. I am positive that my front end is twisted a bit, so when the time and money comes, I'll prolly do the gixxer fork swap instead of going through the hassle of fixing the stock forks.

I like this board, and I'd like to see it grow successful.
buymenow00
Wed 6/19/02, 11:29AM
That depends on what your def of "success" is...since we're not a comm'l enterprise (tho' maybe Todd Hata could help us with that :p )...I would think it should help form a community of people who can share rides, and mechanical knowledge/experience. So far so good! We've had a number of gatherings for rides and mod parties...all of which have been successful.
Later on we could probably have a few dealers give us club discounts on parts/accs., maybe have some t-shirts made, etc., etc...but will we ever have a 100 SV rideout? Maybe not. But that's okay with me...

That's a great idea!
Oh, I was thinking if anyone wants a @socalsvriders.com email address aliased to your real one, let me know!
Also, I've noticed there are a lot of you artistic types (which I am certainly not) here. It would be great if someone could make a mock-up/drawing of a nice front page for our site. I could mess with the details.
There are a lot of sportbikes groups in socal if you look around.

Hey Paul,
Could ya set up mine (gregg@socalsvriders.com) and email the pop settings to my hotmail account?
Thanks

I can work something up with the biz cards...pass 'em out at a ride or mod party so we can all keep some under our seats...there are at least FOUR unidentified SV'ers just in my local area!
My friend Patrick works in a print shop. I can see if he'll print some up for us. Someone do a design up for them and email it to me. I'll pass it along....

WHat is your definition of sucessful?
This SV board has been one of the best things to enter my life BESIDES my bike ... that is a sign of sucess ...
Sometimes too much of something is a bad thing ... after all, too many people could cause choas ... these fun little rants and conversations could easily get lost ... right now, we are basically free of the annoying flamer types ... (well except for me) ...
Having been online for a LONG time (uh 14 fucking years), I've just gotten to the point that I've learned to appriciate comfortable cliques ... way back when, I wanted every BBS I was on to be HUGE ... until I learned the bigger it is, the more idiots there are.

The integrater is kewl. I need to put some black tape on the light to help divide the two sides.
More visiable than what I had.

I also belong to LA Busas. oRg which has made room for other brands, like the ZX-12R Keeping its focus on big bore sport bikes. Check it out:
http://www.labusas.org/
If you wanted to open up forums on other smaller displacement sport bikes I think you'd get swamped by GSXR-600 and R6s :squid:
I guess the question is, are there other bikes/owners that share a similar phylosophy that you don't have to be able to go FAST to go fast through the twisty stuff?

vbcode is doing something funky to the image paths, it automatically adds 'forums'. Anyways, don't worry we all listen and care! ;)

That's why I posted them, so Mr. Moderator who needs a hobby could add them to the smilie library (if he so deemed them appropriate, i suppose).

What's not appropriate is that hairless man to my left over there<!!!
I mean, no man, and I mean, no man I know has no hair like that anywhere on his body.
I mean, men have tufts, like thatches of stuff growing all over the place...
and giant bellys hiding behind those afore-mentioned tufts.
It's far more rewarding for a woman to have to dig through the forest, lost in a maze of underbrush so thick it bristles the flesh...only to find the Treasure buried within!

haha i hadn't even looked, i just saw tattoo and went "hmm kewl" and didn't even notice the peirced nipple til i was rereading a post of mine ...
i don't like buff guys ...
and am not all too fond of body hair either ... leg hair is about the only body hair i really appriciate on a guy ... that's assuming it's soft and not prickly ...
but back hair, chest hair ... whatever ... bleh. the less there is, the less i have to stop and remove while i'm roaming.
i actually knew a guy who was almost that hairless, even his pubs grew in really short ... dunno why, first guy i ever saw naked really, beyond my dad ... boy was i in for a surprise when i got into my next relationship (or perhaps let down is a better word) ... my ex husband actually would look equally as hairless as that guy if a picture was taken at that angle ... and he doesn't have to groom for that look ... (hopefully my son gets his genetics and not my dads).
hmm yeah. (oh so sorry if i offended some hairy guys... some chicks dig the monkeys)
