Just wanted to invite some SV people to a ride Sunday in the Palomar Mtn area (San Diego).....plus a couple other interesting roads......it's a really great route, not very much traffic at all......plus a great hangout at the top of the mountain. We always meet between 8-8:30 at Edwards Cinema on Mira Mesa. It's a non-bike-specific group.....just whoever shows up. The thread is here: http://www.sportbikes.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=97801

Hammer's Route is really fun. They'll go through Highland Valley Rd, Mesa Grande, Fast and Tight side of Palomar, Courser Canyon and Lilac Rd.

See you there Dill.

I'm in. I can't get enough of Palomar! Mesa Grande was a blast last week too.

No Saturday right for me though, I have to work at least one day on the weekend....

Damn, I'm working Sun. I'm off now until Sat though so maybe I'll try to ride that this week.
Got a map of "Hammer's Route", Paul?

Man, Tom was hauling ass at Palomar!

Route is something like this. I have a pretty bad memory so...

LOL I didn't know the phrase "Hammer's Route" was already so well-known......which "Hammer" does it refer to? There's a guy named Rick who uses the Hammer username, and he usually leads this ride so I just figured it was named after him. That's cool you guys already knew it. See you there. Other than Liam who was up at GMR last weekend I haven't met any of you yet. Oh by the way, if anyones' working on thier bikes Fri or Sat let me know, I've gotta get these Racetech springs in

I might have to take the gf's bike instead of my SV and cut the trip short. Have a lunch meeting with some peeps, and SV is at the folks' place since I borrowed their truck to move stuff.

SVer's,

I rode Otay Lakes, Honey Springs, Lyons Valley ( half of which is freshly tarred, nasty ), Japatul Valley to I-8 and back. Did it on a whim at 6:30 this morning and was done by 9:15. Wasn't planning on riding but I have to practice cause Tom's getting so fast and he spends half his ride waiting for me !!!!!!

I got to work on Sunday, I'll miss the ride. Hope to hook up with some of ya'll and ride next weekend. Have fun!!

Jeff

ps: How do you add smilies in the posts?

On second thought, I have to help out with a garage sale Sunday morning. No riding for me this weekend...

Just click on a smilie shown on the left as you post. Or, you can just type the typical emoticon (ie, :) :D :( ;) ) and the appropriate image will magically appear once you post the message.

Jeff, those new tires I got really helped my confindence, even though the stock tires probably aren't as bad as some people say, just knowing I got great tires makes a big difference.

Should be a fun ride tomorrow too bad you guys can't make it.

BTW, on the socalriders.com website, click on the photos section (http://www.socalrider.com/Pictures2002/0817Pal/0817Pal001.html) and you'll see our mugshots up there. Gregg and those two girls are up there too.

That guy, Sean, that runs Socalriders, always takes pics on the weekend at Palomar. He's usually posted up in the corner with the big runoff area.
