i dunno t3, I do know that from my own personal SV hunting experience, a $5500 bike doesn't appeal to me because LA cycle sports is selling 2002's out the door for like 5900. For 400 bucks, I'd buy a brand new bike that I got to break, and for which I had the full 1 year warranty. Gear very rarely adds to the selling price of a motorcycle.
That said, good luck selling it :) You might want to try putting it on recycler.com or sportbikes.net classifieds.

I think it's a pretty good price for such a new bike ($4700 + $800 gear.. what a deal!!).
Most people here (except maybe a handful) already have an SV... and love them... so... I think you should keep it. Why sell it and take such a big hit? I rarely ever see black SV's.

It would be more work, but I would separate the gear from the bike...there may be peeps interested in the bike, but they aren't the same size, or they don't like the kind of helmet you got, etc., etc...makes the gear pretty much worthless to them. Gear does seem to sell fairly well on ebay, and only the people who want exactly what you have will be bidding on it. Drop the bike down to $4900-$5200 and sell the gear on ebay...don't forget that all the OTD costs that you paid when you bought the bike is cost out the window...you'll never see that money again...plus depreciation is always the worst in the first year...well, that's my $.02...(more like 2 bucks!). Good luck, the bike looks sweet! :D
i would love to keep it but my wife and I are buying a house and just cant afford it. Well anyway if anyone knows of anybody thats looking please let me know. I will sell it with gear for 5200 firm and probably 4900 without. well thanks for the reply's any other suggestins are greatly appreciated.

WHat good is gear that either:
1. Doesn't fit (very common)
2. Isn't needed (also common)
3. Wrong style/color (common still)
I would absolutely not be trying to get money for your gear and bike in one shot. You'll dissuage buyers who just want your bike and those who just want your gear. If you are thinking you'll sell the bike with all that gear to someone who doesn't already have it, well I'd say that's no very likely.
So my suggestion would be to isolate the bike from the gear, sell the bike on cycletrader.com or recycler.com and sell the gear on EBAY with pics and descriptions. I think you'll make more money that way too.
Good luck! :-?
