It was quite an experience riding back home a night with a TINTED FACESHEILD. WHAT WAS I THINKING????? I couldn't see the road 10 feet in front of me. So I found a van and tucked right in behind them and opened my faceshield. The van blocked most of the wind/debris for a while but I think they got sick of me riding their :ass: They rather suddenly changed lanes and stomped on their brakes so I left them alone after that.

I rode down last night for the first time... followed an GXXIER and an old Kawasaki 1100 off the freeway untill they pulled off at a Jack N da Box.

Rode down Huntington not seeing another bike for what seemed like miles. Running low on fuel and not finding any gas station on my side of the street, did a screwy U'ey into an Arco station. Asked the slackes next tom me getting gas where Bravo Burger was... just over there. Doh! I'm only right across the street!

Anyway, probably saw you guys. Wasn't riding my SV since I had just gotten my ZX-12R back from Yoshimura and felt the need for speed.

Told some one else on the board I'd be the tall asian looking dude... boy that narrowed it down to maybe 30% of the crowd.

I remeber when the only asians in O.C. were growing strawberries and cutting lawns.

Next time I'll maybe I'll get SoCalSVRider cards and pass them out to everyone there... as it is I find it hard to approach people cold and strike up a conversation.

P.S. Anyone know what's up with "Crash Club"? I saw half dozen bikes with that sticker... some who looked like members in good standing from the visible damage to bodywork, cases, etc.

well, all I can say is that in the time that I've been going to bike night, people always respond to people being parked in the middle of what is generally where people drive ... as being rude. Several comments were made.

I have also seen cops come and harass for it ... which usually turns into cops harassing everyone else as well. As long as cars can get thru, they usually won't say anything ... (not that cars will usually try to go thru ... but on occasion they do).

I'm really digging mine. They don't vibrate as much and the convex mirror means I can see a lot more of what's behind me.

They are way too expensive though... They're distributed by LP, so you can definitely find them a little cheaper than listed here:

but that is probably the best description you'll find.

Mounting on the SV was easy, I just moved all the controls in by about .5" and used the standard mount. With the bar-end weights, that did mean that I had to mount them 'up', but I may experiment with different positions.

I was REALLY surprised to get less vibration out of them... the convex is still taking a bit to get used to, you definitely sacrifice some distance clarity in the view... but you get a much better close view. In fact, you could easily only use one mirror. With just the left, I can see from cars that are just behind me and in the other lane to the left all the way to directly behind me!

Once, in my car, I drove by a really big group of riders (over 100) all parked in a lot along Beach Blvd somewhere near Adams Ave. I've heard this is a regular thing from a random guy at school (but he wasn't a rider and had no details), but I haven't found any info on it anywhere (no recent info anyway), and it was so long ago that I don't remember when exactly it was...

I get the immpresion the crowd is there more to show off thier bling blings(purple fur pants, neon fairing lights, every immaginable accessory) and wait for the black guy(cant remember his name) to show up and start stunting. Then everyone feels good and has to start smoking up the parking lot with burnouts.

New body work is in the garage, just haven't put it on yet!

Might be ridin' with my mechanic who rides an SV Too (we call it the rubics cube because he's got a blue left tail, red right tail, silver tank, and a mix on the front as well (hard to see through the primer paint.

Would love to support an SV row with you! ;)

it's every wednesday year round (although i'd be surprised if anyone shows when it rains)

it's a pretty big one...probably 150 bikes there last night... or a bit less
i've seen like 300 bikes there before...sometimes the ruff riders show on their bling mobiles...there are always really great bikes to check out...a lotta mad phat stuntas doing stopies or wheelies or burnouts or lowsiding whilst entering the lot (that happened last night)

it's fun for a giggle now and then

I went with a friend of mine but I did not see you. I did see a blue SVS but I don't hink it was yours.

It was pretty cool, met Al Lovington Duhamels crew chief as I had to move my bike so he could get out.

Somer interesting bikes there and some guys were doing wheelies on Beach Blvd and I am surprised they did not get busted by the cops. There was another guy with the metal on the bottom of his shoes dragging them on Beach with sparks flying all over the place, for a second there I thought I was an extra in Biker Boyz II the sequel because there are so many unanswered questions from the firts movie:D

I go there every other week or so. Just to see the bikes. Usually the same crowd. Old and Young.

I saw a silver 650 last night and sometimes see the 1000 silver and blue 650 bikes there also. But not last night.

Aside from that hardly see any svs, I usually get funny looks when I drive in, Oh look it's a scooter. Most bikes there are the typical Ricky Road Racer types.
