A couple of those new snazzy, "this defines me as a person" flash avatars (Hammertime :D ) were really slowing me down today (must be the pants) the nut shaking never bothered me before hmm well actually that was a little weird everytime someone else walked in the room. That's the first time I've been slowed down.. anyway.. that was really quite annoying not to be able to scroll down ect. ..

would it be too much to call it quits? Or maybe we could trim those modern works of americana down to shitty computer levels somehow?

thanks -

I agree, the full-on video avatars are slowin down the scroll rates for me, maybe there could be a set limit for them? And turning them off is no fun :)

You can edit options in your profile and turn off the "Show user's avatars " here:

For loading issues (some of these things CAN be large), turn it off in your profile. Other wise, get a faster computer.....

If you are using IE, as soon as the page is loaded, press the STOP button, or press 'ESC'. This will stop the animations on the page. For those flashy ads on the side of some screens, that works too.

Animated avatars are annoying. They don't add any additional value to discussions, or any more interesting than a static image.
