Seeing the guy in the T-shirt go down and then seeing the aftermath at the hospital is just about enough to convince anyone about the usefullness of proper gear, course its not like I needed convincing.

i like the guy that destroyed his yzf. did anyone else notice the guy squeeze the brake handle, only to have it pop off in his hand. there is just something funny about that to me. :D

I will never understand why stunters don't use steering dampers. A few of those stoppies turned wrecks could have been avoided with a damper. those wobbles are much less likely to happen.

and WTF was that blond or anybody else thinking sitting in front of two bikes pulling stoppies? fsckin idiots. the last place you want to be is in front of a moving bike that is pulling ANY kind of stunt.

lol that brake lever thing was funny, but I have one question does anyone else think these guys are a bunch of douche bags?

the last place I want to be is ON a motorcycle with no helmet and no jacket, that guy was retarded, I can't believe people would so willingly endanger themselves. I have no problem with stunting but I dont' see racers going out without leathers :squid:

Yea, I've seen that before, not one of the better stunt/crash vids...IMO.

Would a steering damper really be effective when you are balancing a 380 lbs bike on the front tire? Seems to me all that weight would make the damper almost non-existant. But then again I've never rode a bike with one on so what do I know?

when you max out the dampening it will definitely make a big difference. The Scotts rotary tpye dampers can almost lock the steering.

It's all about the "h4rDc0r3" image.

It's all about "keepin it gangsta".

Even though wearing gear wouldn't interfere with their ability to perform a stunt, their image won't allow themselves to be seen in it.

Nope, too dorky, too preppie. Plus, wearing gear would be "bowing down to tha man"

You see, this is Amerikkka, where people waste time worrying about freedoms that don't matter instead of freedoms that do.

A couple of things about that video:

1. I can't do any of those stunts. Don't want to.

2. Don't let friends convince you to let them "ride your bike for a second"

3. This is the guy the media views as a "sportbike rider"

4. Go ahead and make fun of me because I wear my helmet, armored jacket, and gloves everyday. At least I have skin.

5. The scratches in that R1 will buff right out.

Finally

6. Don't try this with an SV650 (I like mine too much)

Brandon is an idiot - he's lucky he didn't make the Darwin awards. The fools sitting in the middle of the street in front of the two guys doing stoppies - more idiots. Like yadlosky said, these are the people that the media always labels as 'sportbike riders'

It's assholes like this that give the other riders a bad name and raise our insurance rates.

(Man, I must be cranky tonight!)

what a bunch of loons...seeing stuff like this makes me remember, I couldn't even stunt on my damn bike, what makes me think I'm going to stunt on something that outweighs me, my wife and my kid combined?

I've seen this before somewhere else..the guy throwing his helmet gets me every time.

I can just imagine the thoughts going through his head..."#%!%!#@#%&*, I'm so !#%!$^$%*&'n stupid. My (insert family member) is going to !#%!$^! kill me!!! !#%!^%@&!!!!!"

Racing is DEFINITLY better than stunting. IMO:)

great clip. i just can,t get over these guys with no helmets or gear, you know your going to have ahigh % of crashing. one good thing, stunters are good for bike sales and parts? the bad side is all our insurance rates will go up and every cop that sees a bike that looks fast will be finding ways to pull you over, you may be the one that went by him at 140 on the backwheel he never caught. stunters are making the policelook at bikers a little more. don,t get me wrong, i like doing stunts, but i like wearing protection and not doingthis during rush hour traffic. oh well i guess its no worse than the lowered little honda cars that try to run us over all the time. ahhh i feel better now!!!! thanks

I watched that clip and the whole time I was thinking,

"It's wang-wranglers like those guys that are the reason it costs me $600.-/year to insure my SV."

When done properly, by the pros, such stunts are (quite frankly) awesome.

I just can't fathom how they would bother doing any of that stuff without any gear whatsoever.

I'll tell you, the only time I'm ever on my bike without a helmet, the key isn't in the ignition.

I'd like to give that a shot:

'Cause he's the F****** man, and he's to good for something like that to happen to him.

Or

He just realized what an idiot he is and that he didn't have the kinda of bucks that you need to destroy your bike like that.

I don't think he was mad because he trashed the bike, it was probably stolen. :p

He was probably mad because now he looks like a total chump and the chick he was diggin' on is now riding bitch on someone else's Gixxer.

(Wow, that came out way harsher than originally intended.)

I wish I could pay 200/year insurance. For some reason (legislation I am unsure of) bikes are very, very difficult to insure in Mass. Hell, my father has to pay 600+/year to insure his Harley Sportster.

I think you answered your own question. C'mon, it's not as though intelligent people never do stupid shit, and when they reap what they have sown, it's even worse, cause they are smart enough to know they were being stupid.

I probably would throw my helmet, but both times I crashed I sure felt like it. What's so hard to understand about rage mixed with adrenaline?

As for no helmet, well shit, that's just dumb.

I have a couple of friends who are into "extreme" riding. I hate going places with them when they feel everything has to be done on 1 wheel or the other....but not both. I hate that feeling of impending DOOM when you see that front wheel pop up on the freeway at 80mph and then their front wheel goes by your head shortly after at a buck 20. Sure, I ride fast, but I know the time and place. We all know we put our ass on the line everytime we throw a leg over.................all I got ta say is if you lay down with the devil, you gotta F%$K sometime. These guys had it coming.
Videos like this keep me grounded. Thanks
