With the recent fires and the freaky weather we have been getting, I would like a seperate forum for road conditions.

What I meant to say was the rides like Ortega Hwy, Palomar Mt. or Highland Valley Rd. etc. Like after a rain or road closures or CHP activity.

Ortega--- fine if you don't mind the millions of cars
Palomar-- fine, but cold as fsck
Highland Valley--fine
Banner Grade--?? anyone know this one?
Montezuma/Borrego-- As was before, but the new tar snake are pretty slick from what I hear. Take it slowwhen you see tar snakes.
Telegraph--fine
Anything else?
The "Motorcycle Roads" forum, click here (http://www.socalsvriders.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=17), serves this purpose.

The last couple of times I rode through there after the rain storms, it was dirty from mudslides. At least the lower half.

Paul,
The reason I suggested a separate forum was if I/we wanted to see what the current condition of a particular ride was, we could go to this new forum. The Motorcycle Roads Forum is good but it has route instructions and gets cluttered with other stuff. I was thinking like if someone went up Ortega today and saw that there is construction going on they could mention this forum. Also, the forum could be purged often enough that information would be like two weeks current. Is that a lot of work?

I think that would be a little redundant. There's little activity in the Motorcycle Roads (http://www.socalsvriders.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=17) forum without further separating out road condition/warnings.
Currently, the route/map/current weather is only in the first post (in case people don't know where the road, ie Ortega, is) and the rest is usually present road condition.

I think the translation gets lost. Motorcycle Roads is the place to go for directions, etc. It is not the go to place for current road conditions. Most everyone knows the roads around here so they would not necesarily need to go to Motorcycle Roads for directions, so by extension, you comment about little activity at that forum is correct because most of the riders around here don't need directions so they don't look at Motorcycle Roads. I believe a current Road Contition Alert! would be viewed more often and become more active because it would be the go to place for current information. My last $.02 worth.

Sorry abkwanabe, it was the only thing I could guarantee.:D
"Motorcycle Roads" forum just became the "Motorcycle Roads & Condition (http://www.socalsvriders.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=17)" forum.
