AAArrrghhh!!! I'm in MIGRATION HELL!! I'm upgrading to my new computer (finally - it's been about a month!), and I've got most files transferred, EXCEPT my Outlook email and address book! Where the hell is Microsoft hiding these files?? And how do I get them over to the new machine? I copied what I thought were the correct files, but Outlook doesn't want to import them on the new machine...jeez, why can't they make this simple??

Any help from the techies would be appreciated!

I *think* they're stored as .pst files...try c:\windows\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

Or, you could go to File -> Import/Export and choose to export as a file.

I'll try that...tomorrow! I'm so sick of computers right now...

Python's got it right about the .pst... The Import/Export util doesn't get installed with Office, so you'll have to install it if you want to use it (just try to run it and it should ask for the CD), but if you just grab the .pst file, you should be good...

Probably want to run a find for outlook.pst or just .pst, since the location varies a lot... I usually encounter them in c:/win/profiles/app data/...

You can also copy most outlook items directly to the new computer... just open up outlook, highlight everything in your address book, and drag it to a network share (for example). It'll save each individual item as a file.
