What part of the world has this many squids riding around together? You have to wonder, does the lack of a helmet law also encourage people to go without proper jacket, pants and boots as well? Probably in Florida somewhere...

Nope people back east will not wear a helmet even if you told them they would die the next day without one. I remember when I lived in Maryland and we would head down south and I would be made fun of because I'm in full leathers and helmet. There are a few people over there that wear gear but they are usually a lot older and seem to have quite a few scars. Hmmmm......

I always thought the term squid was used too often out here in Cali, I may ride to work in my jeans,boots,gloves but I may just wear a T-shirt. I never really thought of that being a squid, now you go back east and see kids sometimes just shorts and shoes doing tricks, weaving in and out of traffic now that's a :squid:

There is one other place however that I noticed was squid-ish and it was the island of Oahu in Hawaii. Granted they have about the same amount of traffic as LA(no lane spliting) and you can make it to the other side of the island in less than an hour so bikes dont move very fast over there.

I call people squids usually even they're just not wearing proper gear..why? Well I figure that riding without proper gear is more dangerous than doing a wheelie with proper gear on...or the risk is greater (in my eyes).

I admit it's probably a misuse of the word tho heh....otherwise I'd have to call all those legions of Harley peeps squids too for allowing peer pressure to force them to wear silly novelty helmets instead of something that would protect the essence of who you are...your brain.

alright time to put my two cents in this one since i just got back from a 4 year stint on the east coast (never again will i punish myself like that)...but if you take a look at the bikes there people put more into the way they look with all the bling-bling and fancy paint jobs...but you look at bikes in SoCal and its all about having a bike that carves up the twisties......Personally I think that the east coast has way more on stunting abilities that those of us on the west coast...but hey all they have is straight roads...wtf else is there to do?...but overall the riders of SoCal would whoop the east coasts ass on any of our fine twistie roads!

One of the absolutely craziest and most uninhibited fucks of my life was a woman that was overweight. I mean SERIOUSLY kinky. Kinda like the one on the red bike. man you haven't seen anything till you have gone to a big bike week. i lived in myrtle beach five years. they have a bar called suck bang blow that you literally ride bike into and upto the bar and do burnouts as chicks take their shirts off.

I was in the army on the east coast at FT. Bragg, NC...SC does not have a helmet law and when we go down there to Myrtle Beach those people/bikes is all you saw....

For those of you into the sport compact car scene you know what the term "rice" means...well in this case it applies to bikes too.

If a group of us went out there to ride we would get laughed at....they are in their own little world out there.

just to give you an idea how bad it is out there....I spent 2 nights in jail there (small as hick town i was passing through) cause my car was lowered and had an aftermarket exhaust....i couldn't pay the ticket on the spot with cash so i went to jail...i'm dead serious...may sound kind of lame but i don't think Rosco Pico Train liked the idea that i was with a white girl ( i'm half korean).
