Hey you aren't supposed to tell anyone about my race track:D
Seriously though Sand Cyn is about 5 minutes from my house and is one of my favorite roads to ride. I usually ride back and forth between where you took pic 2 and 3 to the drinking fountain at Bear Divide. There is almost no cars or houses out there so it is pretty sweet.Lake Hughes is another one of my favorite roads.

My friend xinc does sand canyon as his ride... He's on a blue svs, joe rocket ballistic jacket, and a black shoei helmet... And he's the guy trying to scuff up the knee sliders another friend bought for him. ;)
Sand Canyon looks and sounds like a great ride. If you fellas let me in on where to find it, I promise I won't tell anyone else.
But seriously, I'd love to know how to get there. I've never really heard of it before.

It is also known as Little T. You can get to it from the 210 and Osbourne or from the 14 and Sand Cyn.

I saw 1 car and 1 bike between the 210 and the 14.
Here is a map link (http://www.mulhollandraceway.org/roads/little_tijunga.html)
I'd recomend riding it slow bothways before you get too squidly, with such light traffic you could turn to jerky before anyone noticed you were down.
Thanks guys, for the tips and the map. Looks like Osborne is only a bit further than my usual 210 getoff in sunland for the backside crest ride. I'll have to try this one out next time. :)

Hey everybody, so this is my first post on this and I just got my sv650s on friday and I love it. My problem is that I don't know much of LA's geography outside of the city so I don't know where any of these rides are that i'm reading about, an someone offer up a map and ride for me to go on to break my new baby?

Congrats on the bike, and welcome to the site.
There's a forum on this board, called Motorcycle Roads, dedicated to maps of the popular roads to ride. It's a good starting point. Here's a link to it. (http://www.socalsvriders.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=17)
Be sure to search and browse around the other forums too, as there's plenty of old and ongoing discussions on the subject of roads and rides.

And please don't break your new baby. ;)

This being the sand canyon thread, I should probably point out that sand canyon is probably a bit much for a beginner...
My friend who rides the road regularly (and is upset to see it posted online, btw) wants to show me the road one of these days but rejects the idea of riding it with me... He insists that we drive it first.

I agree, if there are such things as beginner and advanced roads (and some on this board may argue any road can be a beginner road if you go slow enough). But Sand Canyon has plenty of sphincter-clenching potential if you don't show it respect. It's definitely a road that you want to get familiar with at a slow pace before you go charging through it. I was given the same warning (by dnakase) before my first ride there, and I appreciated the good advice.
