First 600 I've seen with inverted forks. Looks pretty good.

The new KAWIs are UNBELIEVABLE! Finally they got their color schemes looking amazing..all one color with subtle highlights. Perfect. The new R6 is beautiful too...I am glad that someone at Yamaha had the sense to remove those horrid little white wings..maybe they were there for disguise. ;)

Man I am impressed. I would have liked Kawi to keep the rear cowl hump..but it looks awesome..especially the blue one.

I'm confused on the colors offered...on Yam's site I only see the blue/white, grey/black, and black/red. Aaron, where'd you find the yellow/black one?

Does anyone knows if the 03 R1 is the same as the 02 R1? What's the dry weight of the 03?

From the pics................they look exactly the same. I expected a diff R1 for 03.

Bummer.

:D

I don't think any of the Liter bikes are changing this year. Look for a big shakup there in '04, with the new World Superbike Rules and all...

I don't think there was to be any visual difference between the two. Tho, I do remember peeps saying the '03 would be almost 30lbs lighter than the '02. That is a lot of weight to drop.

Burst
Tue 9/10/02, 2:51PM
2003 R1 dry weight is 382lbs....

Anyone know what the '02 weighed in at?

It certainly wasn't no 412...

It'll be 3 or 4 years (at least) before anyone can drop 30 pounds off the current class of liter bikes, at least in any sort of mass-production reliability and cost-effective way...

02 R1 dry weight = 382 lbs....................the same.

I know alot of people will be disappointed. They were counting on the weight drop.

I guess they gotta wait another year.

and like ... OMG 382 lbs is like OMG SO HEAVY FOR SUCH A HUGE BIKE!!!

Why would a liter class V-twin be lighter?

I don't think there are any that are less than 400 lbs.

Burst
Tue 9/10/02, 5:12PM
The V-Twins are heavier. The RC-51 is somewhere around 430 pounds. The TL is right up there with it too. May be a little lighter.

Tho, I am sure they could have made the R1 a little lighter. The 929 is not much less motor and actaully weighs less than our little SV's do.

DAMN THAT IS LIGHT! :) 360 for the R6? WOW. I could probably ride it, even if it is too tall for me.

If I was to get a I4, it would be this. My gear would still match.

it is almost an exact replica of the RC211V Gran Prix bike that V. Rossi rides. Except for the 200rwhp V5 ;)..
