Motorcycle Safety Day? Whassat? I think I may actually be free this weekend.
Cool! There's more info about the Motorcycle Safety Day under the Events calendar (click on the "Events" on the very top header).
Oh, I'm not sure about the route yet.. so stay tuned.

Sounds good. Haven't ridden with you guys in awhile. It will be nice not getting killed on the straights buy all those overly fast supersports i've been riding with! :D
Ride map added. Hope to see you again Tom! I'm videoing your M4 exhaust too... so show up :)

Anyone have a battery?
Mine's dead. None of the shops have one in stock.
I have it charging now but not sure if it'll be ready by the ride tomorrow morning. So if I'm not there at 8am, it's because 12hrs of charging wasn't enough.
MKL:(
Hm...it's 1:45am. I just got home. I've been on the verge of falling asleep for the last 16 hours. I've felt like crap all day.
Count me in! I'll try to make the 8:30 meeting point.

That should be more than long enough to get it at least started. You could always try bump-starting it, rolling down a hill or pushing it ;) If it still doesn't start, give me a call, we can even try jump starting it from my battery (prolly better idea than jumping it from a car battery). Hope to see ya!
12 volts is 12 volts. Doesn't really matter. The bike won't draw any more than it needs. Jump it from whatever is available(as long as it IS 12 volts)
Michelle, if you do need a new battery, pull your old one out and head to Walmart. They should have something there for ya, and only charge less than half of the $90+ the dealers think their batteries are worth.
Thanks for riding guys and gals! Great turnout! Thanks for being patient, James. Monte, you did awesome for a 1st timer up Palomar. Nice to meet new faces... Hope to ride with ya again soon. Sorry couldn't go to the Motorcycle Safety Day festivals, let me know how it was, k?
Hey Paul, I had a good time today! That was cool how many people showed up. Only me, Michelle, and Monte went to the moto safety thing. It was dumb! You didn't miss out or anything. We just got a free pauma casino t-shirt and fanny pack...oh and a cookie....and took off.

I am so glad my battery situation was so easily resolved. Thanks for the tips and offer for assistance Paul, Gregg.
Great ride today. Had a blast.
Thanks Britt and Monte for doin' Mesa Grande w/ me :-)
The safety day was fine tons o touring bikes a few harleys. Lost $10 on the Wheel of Fortune. :-( I noticed the Tshirts advertised for a car show they are having on the 29th - maybe my 61 caddy will be ready by then, otherwise we'll bring the 70 Challenger.
Go Mopar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Heh. Thanks. I really need to get out on rides like that more often. If only they didn't have to start so early. :) There just aren't enough curves on the ride to work...

Why do I feel like a little kid being congratulated for poopin' in the toilet for the first time? :D
One of these days, I will master that trick.
Seriously, though...thanks, but considering I've had my bike for over a year and a half, I really should be riding faster than I am. I just haven't been going on real rides often enough - mostly just riding to and from work and going on little cruises around town (and the occasional wheelie practice :D).
Gonna try to get out more often. I need to do a few things, though: replace the stock tires (they're scary, and, at 6000 miles, they don't seem to be showing any wear  ); get some pants (Joe Rocket Phoenix pants at least); get some of those Intuitive frame sliders (already picked up the swingarm sliders/spools). For now, I'll just keep takin' it nice and slow. :)
Posted my random photos from Palomar. Check 'em out! (http://www.socalsvriders.com/modules.php?set_albumName=album22&op=modload&name=Photo_Gallery&file=index&include=view_album.php)
Or don't! See if I care! :p

Ya, the stock Mez4's will probably last you over 10k miles since you probably don't weigh much (mine lasted over 11k miles). I didn't think better tires will feel different at first, but now I have a lot more confidence on the Sportecs than I would've on the Mez4's.
Thanks for the awesome pics!!
