Anyone used LB motorsports for service? I need my 600 mile service next week, They said $80 to $90, sounds too cheap, other dealers wanted $150 to $210. I can't do it myself, I'm not much of a mechanic. Any info is appreciated.

From what I could tell the 600 mile is bascially an oil change and checking the torque on the bolts...now if you can get it done for $80-$90 that might be worth it, but I got hosed for $230! Next time, I'm doing it myself...it's so simple it's stupid!

Just do it yourself. It's simple. Change the oil, check the chain, bolts, cables,....etc.
It seems like half the time, when people take it to the shop for the 600 mile service............. they come out feelin ripped off.
My 2 cents: Don't ever take it to the shop unless
1) you know for sure the shop does top notch work
2) you really really have to

If you want.........
Bring your bike, some oil, and an oil filter to the Ortega (at the Look Out) on Sunday morning. I live right down the hill from there. We can go to my garage and I'll show you how to do it. It's so simple (as Buyme said), after you're done, you're going to feel silly that you were thinkin of paying someone $100 to do this.....

I'm with Setter... How old IS your muther??
Oh wait, that's not what I meant! I was agreeing that you should do one of the rides with the group and bring the stuff with you. We're all pretty friendly (and if you have a sister Setter is VERY friendly), so we'll be glad to help you with the service.

Setter, sounds good, what time and where are people meeting on Sunday. I don't have a sister, but I do have DVDs that can take her place. I'll bring a nice care package for you. Now what oil and filter should I get?

Just go to your Suzuki dealer and ask them for a filter and pick up some oil. If they don't have your filter in stock, you can get one from AutoZone (or something like it).
Girls Gone Wild? I love those commercials!! I always laugh when they come on!
lol
I have to disagree with Jimm for a moment. I have heard bad things about non OEM filters(Specifically FRAM). These things I have heard were not from dealers either. It's only a few bucks more for the Suzuki filter anyway......
Do you know how to get to Ortega?
15 south to Central Ave (74)
go right off exit
take a right at next stop sign
take next left.
Follow that past the Chevron and such,
keep going past where the road curves left ,
at next stop sign take a right.
Welcome to Ortega Highway!
We will either be riding up and down that side of the hill
or stopped at the Look Out Roadhouse..... Can't miss it.
It might be faster for you to take the 5 towards San Juan Capistrano,
exit Ortega Highway, go east.
Where exactly is San Pedro?

San Pedro is just north of Long Beach, I'm right near Palos Verdes, I'm sure some of you have ridden around the ocean there, very nice scenery, short ride though.
What time is everyone meeting?

Todd - I'm in Redondo Beach, and I do the Palos Verdes ride every week (since I'm still working on my freeway riding). I've got a rear stand, tools, a DVD player, and a Suzuki dealer right around the corner from me...;)
If you don't head down to Ortega...I could probably help you out Sunday afternoon...(not 100% sure). You can give me Rod's care package...I'll make sure it gets to him...heh, heh...

It would be quicker for Todd to take the 405 south to the 5 south then get off on Ortega. Make a left, you'll be going east into the mountains. Nice twisties, pretty view. About 20 minutes later, you'll come out on the other side, right above Lake Elsinore. On the way down, you'll see a shit hole of a diner to your left. That's "The Look Out". You'll see a bunch of bikes park there on Sunday morning. You can't miss it. Just pull into the dirt parking lot. Careful of other bikes and cagers.
I'll be up there at around 8:00 am. But feel free to come a bit later. I'll probably hang out up there until 10:30 or 11:00. All I'll be doing is hanging out, bull shitting, and riding up and down the Elsinore side.
Describe to me your bike and gear so I'll keep an eye out for ya.

long beach did a good job servicing my bike. Only took an hour and totaled to about $88. I noticed an incredible difference now that its been serviced ( i dropped my bike 1 due to a noobie mistake ). 20-50w motor oil, clean brakes and lube chain, fixed sensor, and torqued bolts. Thanks LB =)
