A friend of mine posted this on his livejournal ... thought I'd share (it was descriptive, insightful and amusing) ...

so i woke up _way_ late this am...15 min after i was supposed to be here.... (great trend huh?) so i threw my clothes on got on my bike its cold and wet, but i can't find my liner or neck warmer...no time...gotta go...i'm sure being late to work didn't help, but from the moment i woke up my the wheels in my head were turning, and my stomach was all knots.... so as i'm cutting up through the park....along an open lane...i prop the throttle in a gentle climb and lean back arms out, trying to relax, to unwind, trying to be in the moment, and enjoy.... then the rav4 cuts in front of me without signaling, at 1/4 my speed.... their is solid traffic to the left, and curb to the right, no way out....and i remind you its, cold & wet, first thing in the a.m... bad traction and my tires aren't warmed up... i apply both brakes evenly....of course i'm not stopping even close to fast enough, so i have to jam the rear....i slow down...and go into the wildest tail skid i've ever ridden out....back and forth, back and forth, my heart is in my throat, and i'm just waiting to dump it...to hear the crunch.... but i maintain... and it recovers... i'm sure the guy behind me got quite a show.... and i ride up to the rav4 drivers side door and make eye contact, he has _no_ idea what just transpired. none.. they're called mirrors use them
don't get me wrong tho, i shouldn't be operating my bike in such conditions w/o descent front brakes... and given that i shouldn't have been ridding in rush hour with my hands off the bars...i know i was _asking_ for it... but it still frosts me that this guy almost gave it to me and he doesn't even know.

and to make things worse ..i followed a mercedes benz *suv* in *brown* most of the way down geary! ...what kind of a godless heathen would go to the mercedes dealership - manufacturer of the finest sports sedans in the world - and buy an *SUV*...then ask for it in BROWN!?!?!?
