I believe there may be a "memorial ride" at Palomar on Sunday, for a SoCalRiders guy who died of a heart attack recently. He was supposed to be one of, or the best, rider up there
Sounds like Palomar will be pretty crowded. I hadn't met Eric (super fast Palomar Mafia member who recently passed away from a heart attack), yet it's very sad to hear that. While I think it would be nice to do the Memorial ride, and I encourage you to, I haven't been in the south east canyons lately. Let's do Otay Lakes and Lake Cuyamaca. I'll mod the first post with a ride map and meeting time.
How many and how fast do you guys go?
I live two or three blocks of the Eastlake gas station and I'd like to go, but I think I'm too newbie yet.
Usually we get about 10 riders, and sometimes we split up into 2 groups (fast and cruise)... it all depends what people want.
I try my best to make everyone comfortable. I realize there's nothing I need to prove when riding in a large group. We ride for the fun of company. Everyone I rode with here are very responsible and safe. I'd be very happy to hang back with you, have you follow my lines (I need to work on them), which might make you more comfortable (ask Atul ;)). Besides, Otay Lakes is the perfect road for beginners.
(edit)
Oh, here are some useful articles that you probably want to give it a quick read on group riding:

I might be game for sunday! Padu, don't let being a newbie scare you away from getting together with other riders. Everyone started somewhere and most people are very cool to the newbies. I'm still pretty new and I just hang to the back, then everyone who rides fast just waits up at certain points so everyone catches up.
What time are you meeting up sunday LINP? ;)
Duh....nevermind LINP, I see it now...8:00am 8-}
Old timer, live in Boulevard, thinking about hooking up with you guys (gals?) when you cross (under) I-8, will tag along til my nap time. See Ya. Beppo

I'll try and make it too - it would be nice to meet another SV Rider - I've not actually spoken to one in the 3yrs I've had the bike !
I'll be there. Hadn't rode with other SVer's in a while. My brother will be there too.
Awesome! I'll bring a few t-shirts and stickers. It's gonna be a fun ride :D

Ahh man,
Im going to miss the ride. Going over a friends house to adjust the carb feul/air. and putting on the hoses and valves to make it easier in the future so I wont have to take off the carbs completely. Oh and he has a carb syncr too. I will let everyone know how it goes. Maybe we can get everyone hooked up and fine tuned. Dang but I did want to go on the ride.
G:(
Awesome ride today, wasn't it? 12 riders going at a pretty good pace, no one got lost, no mishaps. Everything was just perfect (well, aside from the cruisers, and green van pulling a U on a blind turn).
Thanks for coming guys! SD SV-ers kickass!!
Had a great turnout today. I had a good time. Paul, thanks for bringing the T-shirts and stickers. I just may have to order more. :) I've posted a few pictures in the gallery, so check 'em out. Sorry about the flare on the first photo. Oh well :(

:) Good ride!!! Finally got to meet some of you guys. Thanks, Paul, for the shirt. I'm not going to forget that green van anytime soon!!Late.
Did you guys meet an SV owner that wasn't on his bike out in Julian? Met a guy with a red SV at Cycle Gear today. Said he'd run into a bunch of guys with SVs while he was out there, and said that someone gave him a SoCalSVRiders.com card.
Ya, I met him. I think he said his name was Josh. I didn't have anymore cards, so I asked Paul to give him one. Hopefully we'll see him on this board soon.
It's only a matter of time before we take over the world.
I guess I should go ahead and request some cards one of these days...
Just gotta decide on a design. Maybe I'll bring the designs page up and throw a piece of gum at the monitor to decide...
Ooh...101 posts. Yippee.

Not sure I hooked up with the right group, caught a group under the freeway, tagged along with the lead guys till a few miles before the lake when someone took a dive, several riders stoped to help the guy up and after that I lost , or got lost, Headed back to Boulevard for my nap. Paul said in his post "no misshaps" ?? Maybe next time I'll able to talk to some of the guys. Beppo

There was a guy that rode a purple EX500 that went down, but he wasn't with our group. We stopped to help him out, and hung out a little just to make sure he was ok.
Thanks for the pictures, Rodger!
Ya, I meant to say, there were no mishaps in our group. Evidently, stopping to help a fellow rider is good karma ;)
Hope to see you on one of our rides soon, Beppo. Black SV's need to represent!

Pic's are great Rodger. I had alot of fun with all you guys. What the hell is the name of road that goes to the right (at the T) away from Julian??? I been down there a few times i just can't ever remember. All i know is that you can go really fast down there. I have definitely gotten alot better at my lean. I think i'm ready to start trying out some knee sliders. Just Can't Get Enough:D
Thanks Clint. The road you're talking about was Banner Grade.

I really wanted to go so I can finally meet all of you. I have owned my SV for a little over a year and a half. Otay lakes is my back yard!!! I was prepping my bike for the ride and found out my bolt holding on my back tire was stripped. :( I was about the 30th person to join this website and it has grown so much!!! I really like the sticker and would like to put it on my bike! I would also like a to buy a t- shirt! Some one please e-mail me at romelicious1@hotmail.com
All I have right now is the SVrider sticker. I also used to work at 2 motorcycle shops so I can get discounts at those shops in the south bay. Do it again sometime so I can meet up! And some e-mail me so I can have a personal contact.
Thanks,
R.J.
You got mail!
Thanks for your support!

Damn, 30% every week?!?!?! Who'd a thunk it? I can't believe the site is growing this fast. You rock Paul!
You rock, we all rock! :D When we routinely get 30 SV's on our weekly rides (separate routes, hey, Harleys do it)... that'll be the day!
