..valleys? I'm going to take the 210 to the end, then the 10 east to the 15 and south. All freeways, but I'm far enough away that if I take any "fun" roads it'll take all day. ;) I'm guessing about 2- 2 1/2 hours. I think I'll leave about 6am. If anyone wants to meet up, we could meet near the junction of the 118 and the 210. If interested, LMK and we'll figure :-? out a specific spot.

Cheers, Doug

I am coming down from Santa Barbara. Mapquest has me going 101 to the 5 to 91E to I 15 S. I could come down to 118/210 and meet up.

What time would you want to meet at the 210? It's about 95 miles from my house in SB to the 210.

If I leave at 5:30am (ouch) I would be there approx 7am.

Let me know what you think.

If you were to come with us, I would go 101 south from Santa Barbara to the 126 ( In Ventura ) and go east to Santa Clarita. It runs into the 5, which is a short hop to the 210 east. I live right near the junction of the 5 and the 126. There is a Jack in the Box off of the 5 south just after the the end of the 126. It's next to a Shell Station. The exit is Rye Canyon. 7am works for me. If you hit Magic Mountain Parkway you've gone 1 exit too far, and can get off there, turn right ( NOT left ) onto the Old Road, then go 1 mile to circle back.

If you are going solo down the 5/91 etc., that will work as well but you may hit some traffic even on a Saturday. LMK if you would like to meet, and we can go from there. I'll be with another guy on a VFR.

Racer X, this applies to you as well....

Either way it should be fun...

Cheers, Doug

I remember going to that jack in the box all the time for lunch when I was at valencia high school.

The truck we were gonna used broke down, so now I have NO IDEA what we are gonna do ...

I've done the ride too many times now ... and with a passenger, that'd suck (my friend can't ride the bike he's borrowing all the wya down, it's not his to be putting so many miles on) but we may end up doing it ... i'd just rather save my tires for the canyons ...

If we end up riding, I am going to push really hard to leave thursday night, stay somewhere and continue on Friday ... it's possible depending on where we stop, you guys will be passing that area around the time we get started again ... perhaps we can coordinate based on that idea ... (unfortunately i don't know the exact plan at this point in time) ...

When I first did the ride a few times, I was all gung ho ... and cuz' I've put a LOT of emphasis on RELAXING this weekend ... I'm going to take my time and enjoy myself ... (i have too many other things putting the "hurry hurry" pressure on me) ...

Looks like the bike is staying up here ... and we are taking a car down ... (sniffles ... pouts ...) ...

I just put brand new tires on my bike ... and the idea of riding my bike down and ruining those tires on a straight line just urks me beyond any point of description. That and my friend siad he'd ride bitch down, but wouldn't want to ride bitch if we went riding in the canyons ... partially cuz' it'd be boring for him, and partially because he knows it'll slow me down considerably and all I've been talking about is getting to ride the roads down there that I miss so much ... :( ... and I'm not bringing someone I invited down, and leaving them behind to go ride (well ... it's tempting but ... unlikely ...).

So yeah ...
