Hello everyone,
I'm planning a trip from San Diego to Palm Springs and I'd like to avoid using freeways as much as possible.
From cycling trips, I know that there are some cool roads that go through the Anza-Borrego desert and surrounding hills towards Palm Springs. Can anyone suggest a good route that goes through the desert/mountains?
I am thinking about a route that uses the 371 and 74. Are those good roads? What about fuel? The ride is just long enough so that I'll need gas when I'm in the middle-of-nowhere. Do any of the towns in that area have fuel stations?
Thanks in advance!
