Let me know at the gathering as I will be off-line this weekend.

I am going to be riding Palomar on Sunday if you guys want to tag along. Tho, if you are staying further north it would be a bit of a hike back down this way, Palomar is about 20-30 minutes southeast of my place(where the Gathering is being held)

I think Palomar is worth it, but some would probably disagree(Rod would disagree, but he is biased since he lives at the bottom of Ortega :D )

You definitely have to check out Palomar. It's very "unique" in socal -- twisty but not so tight that you can't go fast. I'm going too... get one more run before leaving for Europe.

If you have the opportunity to run Palomar you won't be disappointed.
Gregg - What time do you want to head out?

I'm NEW today!

Just read this post and posted to the earplug topic. I'm mmac, I'm occupied till about 12pm, how late will you SV'ers be there? 1 or 2 is a little late I know but I'll try if you think you might be there. Otherwise, I'm usually there on Saturdays (280 mile days from Otay Lakes to Palomar). Bikes are ment to RIDE!!!

Gregg, Paul, Dan and Kurt - I had a great time today riding with you guys. The weather turned out to be pretty good.
Dan - You are pretty quick on that SV, I damn near thought you were going to ride the wheels off of that bike. I could learn a few things from you.
Paul - Sorry that you went down. I hope you aren't too sore. At least the bike isn't that bad.

Ya.. sorry for that. We were just leaving Palomar after a morning of fun, that was my last run before leaving for London. Still can't believe it happened, maybe I was pushing it. The front washed out. Apart from a turn signal light, mirror and small scratches, bike's fine  I got myself under it to save it, and found the perfect spot with soft soft sand to do it too ;)

Well, if you were gonna do it that was definitely the place to do it. :D Nice soft sandbank to set her down in... Glad you are ok tho. Have fun in Europe.

Daniel it was a blast riding with you. Maybe I'll come up north and take a week or so and you can show some of the roads up your way. I've got family north of Sacramento so I can kill two birds with one stone.....

Sorry to hear that you went down Paul. Glad you're OK. How did your gear hold up. It's a good thing that you always wear em.

Gear's fine, just a little scuffed on the left elbow. I don't think I'd be able to walk away if it weren't for full leathers. The bruise on my thigh isn't swollen anymore. People told me I would feel it today, but I actually feel better :) I was really really lucky that nothing bad happened (to me or the bike). Now I've got 2 weeks to think about it.

Paul went down?...............

Glad to hear you're ok Paul.

Just so we can benefit off of your misfortune :D .................. please educate us.................How "exactly" did it happened?

What do you think made your front gave out?................too much braking?..........

I'm really surprise that the M1s gave out on you..................... baaaadddd M1s........

:D

I was coming out of the turn, so I wasn't braking, I was accelerating and straightening up. I think I was just tired or probably overly excited for a final run, been going up and down the tight side all morning. I know I scrape my shifter (I know... it's a bit low, but I like the position) on that turn, so who knows. I doubt it was road condition, just my stupidity.
Shit happens I suppose, I had fun. Kinda weird it happened after I was talking about safety and the club with another SV rider, Robin, at Mother's just before taking off.

Paul,

Do you think when the shifter touched down on the pavement.............. it could have lifted your bike enough to lose traction?......

..........interesting.............

Sorry if I'm making you feel like a microbe under a microscope.........buuutttttt..............

.........interesting..............

Daniel was in front of me, he told me everything he saw and what he thought. I'll have a couple weeks to think about what I did. I don't think it's the shifter or the bike. It's me... must've spaced out, forgetting how much I'm leaned over, and plopped. I just need more practice, hopefully a track day/school soon.
