After attending my first bike night in HB and seeing some other bike with Neon and random flashing lights I decided I needed them too. Call me a squid, but I think it is cool. Anyway, Frys sells a set of two 6in neon tubes for like 20 bucks. A relatively cheap mod. I proceeded to take the seats off and the rear body work so I could have access to license plate light. I chopped all that shit off because I doing a cheap fender elimination. That tuned out decent, not the greatest, but it works. I connected the wires from the license plate light to the neon kit. Using zip ties, I mounted the neon tubes just below the battery to the subframe. When the bike was all put back together the neon shines through the plastic vent looking things that are directly under the seat. It also cast a blue tint on the ground, the shock, and the general rear protion of the bike. I only wish I had took the time to wire in a switch but I can do that another time. When I get the digital camera back from my parents, I'll take a few pics and post them. I can't wait to showem off, because I have never seen another SV with neon.

You should do this to a *BLUE* bike :)

I actually love the idea of neon...maybe it's the influence of my overly gayified synthpop music (nothing wrong with being gay, mind you) or my love of clubs (blacklights!!), but I think it looks uber duber cool....oh yeah I bet it improves visibility as well....now blue on red? Hmmm...I guess it wouldn't matter too much if you have the neon lit at night. Red would be cooler on red, but I bet it looks great anyway...

Hey Gang,
I was at the gathering and a few people asked about the Neon lights. Well here is a few pics of my blue neon lights. These were taken about 6 months ago. They are not the best pics, and I got more coming, as soon as I get my camera back. Ive added a few more things to my bike since these. If anyone wants help putting some on I know the easiest way and a garage to put them on. I wired them to my brights so they dont have to stay on if you dont want them too.:D
Let me know what ya think

That rocks Grich...how'd you do that? How many kits is that? Hard to install?
Do you ride around like that? (I'd imagine so). :)

Its not that hard at all, depending on where you want them, and the lights come in pairs so depending on how much light you want, you could get bigger or smaller tubes. Attaching them to the bike I had tested a few different ways and had to go to home depot for the parts. All in all its not hard. Oh and you can run it on its own switch. its up to you.
a little while back someone put up pics of neon lights on their blue SV650S. i kinda liked it and wanted to do something similar on my SV650S. anyone know the link or anyone know how to do this? thanks.

there is a million places you can get neon... ebay... your local auto parts store.... it's pretty simple installation if you know how to wire and install a switch...
i'm alright at it. i have done wiring before. but i figured i would talk to somoene who has done it before proceeding. i want to make sure ialso mount it securely and away from anything that it shouldn't make contact with. finding the neon and the wiring is more or less the easy part. just want basic guidance.
