Stinks.

Pretty much a League of Extrordinary Gentlemen Ripoff(which I actually enjoyed).

Movie takes entirelly too loooooong to get to the point, which was...hmmm, not sure exactly what the point of the movie was.

I guess I got my money worth however, since I didnt pay.

Lol. Funny that you liked League over Van Helsing.

Where as one was a crappy rendition of contemporary comic-book literature, the other was a campy reinvention of a classic horror literary character.

Anyway, I have to say that I wanted camp out of this movie, and I got it by the bucket load.

Also, anyone who remembers good old fashioned Castlevania on the 8-bit NES needs to see this movie for the parallelisms. FUN.

Check out my quick review on www.bizzos.org (scroll down to second or third post by now.)

Well, on a scale of thumbs up and thumbs down...this movie gets the :finger:

I walked out and went to watch Godsend. Now that was a cool movie...kids killing people always turns out to be a good movie!

Actually, I thought they were both campy fun

League was fun but if you read the graphic novel it was kind of like expecting someone to be into the Crow only from seeing the third movie or Highlander from the second movie that was so bad even the producers of the third movie denied its existence.

Anybody seen "Hellboy"? Sounds like similar genre.

How's it compare to "League" and "Van Helsing"?

Though I absolutely love Hellboy comics... the film was just so-so.

I felt it was a little entertaining even putting my devotion to the literature aside-- there were some key elements that were right on, like some character designs (that felt like Mike Mignola art) and some plot situations.

The problem is that the pace and the themes of Hellboy are kind of ill-fitted for film. But, they glossed it up a bit with some X-Men style set design and what not.

Overall, I'd wait for DVD.

I was laughing at the ending. What a crock. I've been screaming "NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEVVVVVVVVVVVVVEEEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRR RRRRR!" for a couple of days now. By boyfriend's ears hurt.

Don't worry, I feel old with you. But, the series is still alive. The PS2 version actually kicks booty.

Now, as far as the movie, damn...I was hoping for better reviews. Oh well, I guess I'll wait for the DVD, or just rent it.

Well...I've heard more than one person say that they liked it. Considering that I'm fans of both Hugh Jackman and Kate Beckinsale...I will go see the movie and decide for myself if it's any good.

Basically I'm just hoping that it has some action and a decent storyline. I'm not expecting Oscar award winning stuff here...just some amusement to break up the monotony. Just hoping to have a little fun.

Oh yeah, you'll have fun. It's rollercoaster entertainment through and through.

It's a fun movie...just don't expect too much. Can't go wrong if Kate Beckinsale is in it. :D

As for the acting, I found some (OK many) parts funny...the main vampire dude's acting wasn't that good

I thought League was horrible. And I expect Van Helsing to be horrible... but I'd still go see it because... well... Hugh Jackman is HOT!!! :D

I saw it an thoroughly enjoyed it.

I actualy would like to see it again to take more of the plot it. I like how there is the whole subplot about Van Helsings past and his relationship to monsters. (I would be more specific but I don't want to ruin it for anyone).
