Had a great weekend. Its amazing that there wasn't a pile up in turn one in the novice race. I was 12th on the grid and by the time I reached turn one in both starts, it was a total clusterfuk. No one seems to be able to hold a line through one, weaving back and forth, accelerating and decelerating, it starts a total chain reaction. I just decided to stay outside on both starts and make up ground later.
It was cool to dice it up with Charlie out there...makes for so much more fun to actually have someone to race with. All us SV'ers who are still in novice should just ask to be gridded together as a second wave just for the hell of it, I mean...it's only 2 points anyway.
I did a lot better this time...22nd. Possibly 20th if I hadn't been passed TWICE under waving yellow in the last one or two laps in turn two. I didn't protest because I didn't pay attention to their numbers (can you say: target fixation?) and it would have been stupid anyway, "Hey I want the two points I get for 20th instead of the two I get for 22nd...sniff,sniff...Its only fair!!!"...that would have gotten me the pussyman of the year award for sure.
Kurt...dude...you suck. I want out of novice too, please take me with you.
I have a nice flat spot on the pirelli slicks form turn 8. Keepin' it pegged through there these days. The rest of the tire is still in fair condition. I think I might flip it around for a few warm up/ suspension (read: rear shock) setting sessions before I nix them. I'll ask the pirelli guys what they think. They'll probably tell me to stop being such a cheapbastardman not to mention a major pussyman and just buy some more of their excellent product.
Camped out (read: slept in th back of my truck) at the track this weekend...it was fun in spurts, misery in others. Didn't take a shower for two days...that was gross...and fun...I guess...in a five year old kinda way. Walked over to the house of charmin in my skivies (boxer briefs...look just like shorts except you have to be mindful of the weiner port opening up on ya) and Sidis at 'round half past midnight to take a little towel bath. I probably...no...not proabably...for sure...yes, for sure I looked like a total fool but i had a few beers in me and was a man on a mission. Glad all the kids were asleep otherwise Sidibootwearingunderwearsportingandnotmuchelseman probably would have ended up in the klink for indecent exposure. But it turned out all good...went to bed, truck bed that is, with sparkling fresh pits. I was a happy man.
Race weekends are the best. Can't wait till next month.
