Hey ersigh,
great pictures even though I don't know anyone. You just need a home button or something at the end so you don't have to back up throught the pics to get to the main menu each time ;)
Are you moving to socal? If so, which part?

How long are you in NorCal? Are you here to stay for now or moving somewhere else? My weekends suck...I can probable do a ride next weekend if you want. ;) I haven't been on any good motorcycle roads up here yet...

I found a nice section of road today ... I think it's nice enough to actually do multiple runs thru it ... that made me happy ...
So far all the "good roads" stated by people who ride around here, have been, IMO, lacking ...
Today is the first day I've gotten anywhere near close to "in the zone" in more than 2 months. :( I find that depressing.
I'm in NorCal easily for 2 more months ...
I seem to remember one pretty nice ride that started in Livermore and then ended up going by the observatory on some mountain basically in San Jose.
There's always Skyline and all the other roads around LaHonda.
I used to hang out at 'the wall' in the berkely hills (can't believe I forgot the name of the road!) They'd always do a circuit through the state park up there (right above Lawrence Berkeley Labs.)
That being said... LA has better roads. :)

Tine,
If coming from Livermore, you take Mines Rd south to Mt Hamilton (note, Mines is 1-lane most of the way), and then you can take Mt Hamilton Rd to San Jose. Nuke, try the damned Santa Cruz mountains. They're right next to you. PM me if you want a good route, or just go on a ride with the Norcal folks... Leigh, there's a bunch of good stuff (try 128 to Boonville, 253 back to Cloverdale, then down to Ukiah and head 175 (GREAT ROAD) up to clear lake)... I don't know that area as well as some others, but you should really send Trace a message to show you around... He's an excellent rider and knows so many incredible roads up in that area...
The one thing that is a lot different up there though, is that people don't just do run after run up and down these roads. The best rides I've been on (Napa/Sonoma/Lake and one other county), was 250 miles and we never saw the same pavement twice. It ranged from little tight roads (tighter and slower than palomar), to wide sweepers (Hwy 253), to a nice, medium speed road like GMR (Hwy 175)
Personally I think that there are some better roads up there, because a lot of them actually go somewhere. I guess I haven't down the whole area northwest of the crest (Tujunga, etc), but up in Norcal, we could link together a ride of 200 miles of twisties and experience all different types of roads...
