Not supposed to show ...? Hmmm ... wouldn't that be piercings?? hehe ;)
I have a bunch of tattoos, however, I'm unsure of where I'd have pix of them (they are in one of my thousands of dated folders) ... so I'll have to take new ones at some point ...

Britt,
I don't know if you got my message...
Rich tells me that he gave you my Palomar Ride video a few weeks ago. I can't believe you didn't e-mail me. Anyway, I'd like it please. Please check your private messages and let me know when we can hook up this week. Thanks :-)

Okay ... so now it's like 30 min after I posted that ... (give or take a bit) ...
Here goes ... (i tried to make the files super small) ...
This is a small tattoo I got on my ankle when I get the tattoo on my arm ... he did it for free because it was the symbol for his tattoo parlor ... (it has 3 dots, and i thought that was uber kewl) ...
http://www.am.net/troll/livejournal%20pix/tattoo/ankle.jpg
this is on my right forearm ... it's positioned how i view it, which is upside down from how others view it. it's my birth given first name "translated" into chinese ... there's a bunch of symbolic stuff that goes into the equalateral (sp) triangle and 3 dots ... (i've explained it so many times, now when i say it, it just sounds stupid, so i apply the ideas to my life and don't really say much ebsides "oh, it's just a tattoo") ... i dreamt having this tattoo a year before i got it ... and when i saw this artwork (i worked w/the tattoo artist on it for a month or two) i had total vivid flashbacks to my dream ... a month later, i decided to get it ... i got this tattoo in early 1994.
http://www.am.net/troll/livejournal%20pix/tattoo/arm.jpg
this is on my right shoulder blade. it's kokopelli chillin. my exhusband drew it for me using his credit card as a ruler, while in a dairy queen in victoria, canada ... kokopelli fits into a triangle ...
http://www.am.net/troll/livejournal%20pix/tattoo/back.jpg
uh ... scary belly button ... from my view point ... heh. (it says rar)
http://www.am.net/troll/livejournal%20pix/tattoo/belly.jpg
this is my left ear. started out as 3 dots, the guy did one of the dots bigger than the others, and i thought it looked awful and got a triangle ... (i was retarded)
http://www.am.net/troll/livejournal%20pix/tattoo/earl.jpg
right ear (my ears i actually got done 2 years before my arm, down in azusa ...)
http://www.am.net/troll/livejournal%20pix/tattoo/earr.jpg
this is on my right leg, above the knee ... yes ... it's a paperclip ... it's a long story ... i still think it's kinda kewl ... heh. (i'm a dork and yeah, i collect paper clips of different types) ... i got this one august 3rd, 1995 (that's the day i met my exhusband) ...
http://www.am.net/troll/livejournal%20pix/tattoo/leg.jpg
done at the same time as my belly button, it's my left hand pinky it was 3 dots and now everyone thinks i have a bruise or a heart ...
http://www.am.net/troll/livejournal%20pix/tattoo/pinky.jpg
this is artwork for what should be my next tattoo ... i've been waiting to get this for nearly a year now ... it's the symbols for mother/child and for my year of birth and my sons ... i haven't decided where ti get it yet ... thinking on my neck, near the base, going down to the top of my back ...

its a koi fish that starts about my nipple, and goes across my chest and onto my shoulder, the kanji symbols, lotus flower, samauri and cherry blossoms and wind bars go almost to my elbow.. then i have a few more in various places.. still need to get my recent linework colored in, but its low proprity on the money-spending..

You could just take multiple pix and then line em' up in photoshop. Just try to keep the distance from your arm and the lighting the same ...
My little canon has a panarama setting that is quite useful because it helps you line stuff up and then has a program that does most the work for you ...

I've just started using Adobe Premier 6.0 for doing videos, and I think it has some stuff for doing GIF animations, but I'm not sure. If not, try Macromedia Fireworks MX. I'm almost positive that has it. Either one of them is pretty expensive though. I haven't been having enough time to play with them enough to tell you for sure. If you want, send me what you want done and I'll try and play around with it. PCPerks@cox.net

Hey Phil,
Are you in school? My boyfriend and all my roommates go to The Art Institute of Cali. They are all into those same programs too.

Sat 10/12/02, 9:04AM
Nope, I just got started playing around with them. I'm pretty involved in computers at work and got the Macromedia stuff for doing web pages and Flash animation, and then, since I'm in the military, this site (http://www.grouchymedia.com) got me into doing digital video editing. If you got the bandwidth for a big download, download the videos Die Terrorists Die, and Taliban Bodies. It's pretty cool. Set to music by Drowning Pool.
Anyway, that is why I keep hitting people up for SV video clips and pictures, so I can put one together for SoCalSV's. The one I'm doing now has mainly pictures from SVRider. But maybe tomorrow at Palomar I can get some stuff.........We'll see.

Adobe Photoshop 6 and 7+ comes with ImageReady, which allows you to optimize images for the web (drastically reduce file size) as well as create animated GIFs. That's what I use, although not for the task of creating animations.
idukes
Mon 10/14/02, 5:15PM
I concur with Paul. I like ImageReady. It's a good program. It's great for folks who already know their way around Photoshop, because the interface is the same. Of course if you're starting from scratch learning a graphics app, that's no advantage to you. I like some things about Fireworks too, but in general I still recommend Adobe products over Macromedia. Adobe is very thoughtful and thorough about putting out very polished products with very slick features. Photoshop is the best program I've ever used, of any type. Macromedia has put out some incredibly useful stuff; their Flash is indispensible, but maddeningly buggy and crashy.
Sorry for ranting.
Anyway, if you want to get Photoshop 7, and you use a PC, a friend just sent me this link in the mail. These people are selling it for $40 bucks for the complete program. Hard to believe, because it lists for $609.00. I don't have any connection to this company, and I can't vouch for them, so buy at your own risk. It was just a coincidence that someone sent me this link today. Great deal if it's true though.
http://208.202.130.109/web.html
Or you can just pirate a copy from a friend like everyone else does.
Good luck.

Yo Setter!
Ok for animation....if you want to make your own custom, hand drawn animation, I highly recommend Toon Boom. www.toonboom.com. I believe you can export your animations to a variety of formats, including Flash.
And of course, Flash is a great tool to learn, though the tutorials I have seen suck ass. It's a weird program to learn, not that intuitive in some ways, highly intuitive in others. So you can make animations for the web, design websites with your own sound, it's pretty cool.
I bought ToonBoom and like it quite a lot...it's a lot of work to hand-animate stuff though (to get it to look good) so I don't have time to animate the squirrel just yet man....though if I am bored one night I will take a crack at it. :)

Making an album (like you did) is perfectly fine too, and is prefered if you have a bunch of photos to share. Just remember the "img" tags only works on URLs that end with .jpg or .gif AND cannot contain "?" characters.
Nice tattoo btw... must hurt a lot there.

Okay if I quote you There is an attachment button...... and now I feel sorta silly. BUT! I am a Craaaaaazie kinda guy and I usually just post. Bam! Like Emeril..... and I've only seen three buttons:
Submit Reply Reset Form and Spell Check
Now if I post it
I then go back to Edit post, because I didn't get my photo in....
I can do a Headline 'Hey what gives?' Change the font to be fancy or colorfull...... and I just found the IMG button to post a photo....... But I can't get them to upload from my HD. So I guess my question is:
Is the only way to post a pic is to quote somebody in the thread?

On the bottom right of each thread, you'll see a "new topic" and a "post reply" button. Just click on "post reply", and you'll see all the options. The reply form at the bottom of the thread is handy if you just want to do a quick reply without all the fancy stuff.
Awesome, tat btw! Is that your own design? Do you have more pics of your work? Is there a SocalSVRiders discount??

I think that would be foolish... kind of like getting a tattoo of your girlfriend/boyfriends' name. If you end up getting a different one, you're still stuck with the other name on your arse (or wherever you get the tat).
Don't have any ink done yet, but I'm considering it... Designed this logo for my site and the more I look at it, the more I think it would make a good neck-piece. Opinions?

If you mean on the back of your neck I think you should realize that the image will have to be sized to fit your neck... sort-of small and poof, just like that, there goes the detail.
Now if you're crazy... and you mean a necklace (ouch! ouch!) you need to know that one side of the human body is very different from the corresponding side. no way to get a perfect circle (great band... but what's with the guitar swapping)
Given the design and it's wonderful Yin Yang properties I would recommend placement in the middle of the body, wherever that may be.

Hey flyboy -- I adore your tattoo! And, I was being totally sarcastic re. the pain. Yeah, mine hurt like ten fother muckers!! Especially going over the spine -- sort of like a hot knife carving the flesh to the bone. But's a good kind of pain, you know? :D

Can't get two quotes in here, otherwise I'd drop yours in, too Jeff (Tillers_Rule).
Thanks for the compliments... I gave David some ideas of what symbols I wanted to see and let him know the significance (I'll get to that in a sec). When I stopped by, he showed me the drawing... I was floored. I stopped in later that night and got her taken care of.
Now... the significance. I don't mind people asking... but I don't know how they'll take my response, so I avoid the subject altogether in conversation. Coincidentally, 9/11 happened shortly before the date on my arm. But it bears no direct resemblance to my tattoo.
My father passed away 9/19/2001 at the age of 56, when I was in my last two years of college (I was 22). He led a life of generosity towards others and lived to help other people, both in work and in recreation. He was a registered nurse (RN)... the Red Cross is for his profession and symbolizes his kindness and care for life. The wings are symbolic of an angel, as is the halo. I placed the tattoo in clouds because I feel him looking over me even as he's moved on. This tattoo is my closing for him as a continued part of my life.
Before I have a lot of people sorry and sad for wondering and asking... don't be sorry and don't be sad... I enjoyed what I had with my father despite any hangups we had, and he has taught me many lessons. I am happy to say that I told my dad I loved him when I could and I felt it pointless to be angry at him and have arguments--even if he frustrated the hell out of me... Don't most parents?

Round two of probably seven or so rounds to get my back and shoulders done. This round only ran me about $200. Under the one on my arm (round 1) was an old tat i wanted covered up. And this round used an existing tat and just expanded it and he also touched it up again. And it smarted just a little bit... took about three hours or so. But I'm pretty satisfied. And he's coming back again on Saturday. :D
My photo gallery has a picture up of the original one that was there too. I'll keep posting as the progress goes. Since I'm not riding right now, I've got to post about something on here... :(

Anybody with any firsthand experience with tattoo removals? Or do you personally know of someone that has gone through it?

Wanting to get that one removed from your neck, or do you have an ex-girlfriend's name tattooed on your ass?

Yes, I know a few people who've had the procedure done and I wouldn't recomend it unless it's a very small, old, and poorly done tattoo.

My rear end hasn't been poked, by a needle or otherwise............thank you very much.
Yeah, it's gotta go. Just a matter of when.

A little color added.... I don't recommend being hungover and worn out for a tattoo session as it makes it A LOT worse...

That is seriously nice. One of the best back pieces I've seen. Rate it highly.
How long did it take? How many sessions did you do it in?
pcperks
Wed 7/20/05, 3:18AM
So far the center piece has only been two sessions totaling about 7 hours or so. I've got probably two more to get it finished up....

Finally finished. Today's session hurt like a MF though.

nice artwork! That's a cool design and great use of color. Just out of curiosity, what it's significance/meaning to you?

I actually only paid about 500 for that back piece.. Something to be said about getting tats in a country where it's illegal... they don't want you bitching about the price... :D

The short answer is: to remind me to work hard...
The long answer: Everytime I look at it I have a memory, or a thought, or a feeling.
The symbol is my own design and has no 'official' meaning that I'd like to share.
ok Lets see...a spaceship!!or a boat or something too.

You get that at anchored ink, right off hot springs road?
Naw... it was Soul Expressions off of Jefferson. The guys there were great even when my friend was getting ready to face plant right into the floor... good thing there was a nurse in the building.

Right on, just wanted to ask since I see your in murrieta.
Friend couldn't take the tattooing?
LOL. She got through it... did a wrap on her upper arm, didn't eat before we went, blah blah blah... she psyched herself into it but was fine once they started. We're already planning for our next ones!

I have one on my left upper arm of a viking guy I drew along time ago. It was done in Funhouse Tatoo on Broadway in SD. don't have any pics of them on me since I'm on the boat out to sea. Today my future wife just got an apprenticeship at a tat shop. That will be kick ass for me.
