Can't they ticket you for stopping anywhere on the road, now that the Angeles Nat'l Forest is officially closed? I like riding more than stopping, but every once in a while you need to take a breather...

It's Hwy 2 north of Pasadena...
See www.pashnit.com (motorcycle roads section) for more information... It's a phenomenal road...

I went up crest two weeks ago and the road was closed to cars - so the ride was great. there is a restop 26 miles from the foot of the hill at newcomb's ranch. a good ride to take is from the bottom, turn left on angeles forest highway about 10 miles up then right on upper tujunga (nice sweeping curves that you can go fast on) then back on to angeles crest highway (left from upper tujunga) to newcomb's. it's about 40 miles from start to finish. no need to stop until newcombs because the whole thing goes by quickly if you're having fun.
newcomb's is the place to relax and have breakfast before tackling the rest of the mountain.
Anyone interested in going up crest Saturday, 10/12, and meeting at shell around 7:30/8AM? The earlier the ride the better to beat the traffic later in the day.

thats the route i take almost every time. sometimes i go through upper tujunga 3 times cause i love it so much. and when i really want to go for the gusto, after newcombs i go back to upper tujunga and then to the long straight stretch on the road to palmdale and then back upper tujunga and then down. that rides a little over 100 miles i believe.
but anyway, anyone wanna join me on thurs?
