SV Rally in August or Sept?

Well since there are 30+ of us in the So.Cal SV group and I don't know how many in the NorCal group, I was thinking of organizing some kind of "Big Ass SV Rally" during August or Sept.

Ride there Saturday morning, camp or get a hotel, hang out Sunday, and ride back Sunday night.

I know you're all for meeting with the NorCal group, but how would you feel about a weekend rally? I suppose could even have a bike contest, t-shirts, video tapes, and workshops.

It should be something that is a week long thing, but that's not gonna happen... at least not likely.

How about this... The guy from Keigwins@TheTrack is actually on the NorCal list, and the people (there are about 140 on the list last I heard) have just been discussing setting up a private day at Thunderhill. I could check and see if they'd want to do the same thing, but down at ButtonWillow (the guy has done them there too, I think). We'd need 40+ riders between the two groups to make it cost effective for Lance Keigwin to run the show, but I think it'd be possible. What do you think?

I want to meet other Svers and I want to do a track day. Why not kill two bird with one stone. Do it in September as i will be in a different state (away from the SVS) for the month of August. Can you all recommend a good race school? Is there one held at California Speedway?

Okay, here's a possibility (the NorCal folks haven't decided on here or Thunderhill yet)...

Lance Keigwin, who is already running a track day there that day, has offered to keep a certain number of spots open for us SV people, provided we try to commit about 20 riders or so. I think between us and the norcal group, we could probably get 20. It'll be a little discounted from normal rates, and they provide lunch (I think he quoted $175 for the day)...

What do you think?

Guzzigirl, you finally posted... lol I guess you missed the thread someone started. Do a search for your user name in the threads. I am not sure what it turned into but it started as someone saying hello to you after you signed up.... ya never quite know what simple threads about somehting specific can be turned into around here.
