It's official Valentino Rossi has broken his leg.http://www.motomatters.com/news/2010...motogp_li.html .There goes his title hopes. Now the question is who will Yamaha bring in to ride his M1.

Ouch, a compound facture. That sucks. I'm not a big Rossi fan, but I wouldn't wish that on anyone. Probably good for Ben though.

Just saw the video footage on motogp.com. That was a pretty high speed high side that flipped in the air and threw jim the gravel.

Compound fracture...yuck. The visual gives me the hee-bee jee-bees. It's incredible how he will be back riding in no time. Maybe these guys really are aliens???

Bummer. Open fractures suck, specially on a weight bearing bone. My open fracture was on my arm. My tibia was crushed at the ankle, thank god not an open fracture. Then there's the femur, thank god that wasn't an open fracture either, but now I have to have surgery on it, 33 years after the fact.

Bummer bummer bummer for Rossi.
Hope he can bounce back from this one.
Will be hard to pick up his momentum, looking forward to seeing how he does it.

With these new rules about rookies I wonder if Ben would be allowed to ride for the factory team as a fill in.

i think rossi is out for the rest of the season. i kinda doubt it if ben will ride as a fill in. it would be nice if it did happen.

There was talk that Colin Edwards would be coming on, but with the way he placed in the last race, would Yamaha consider ditching him for Ben Spies?

I don't think we'll see Edwards on Rossi's bike since he's under contract to Tech3 not Yamaha. I wouldn't count on Ben either since he falls under that stupid rookie rule. I think the bosses at Yamaha should really look at Gary McCoy to take Rossi's spot since he poses no threat to Lorenzo, is a crowd favorite and is a proven race winner which could put him in a place to help Lorenzo win the championship. Fiat and all the other sponsors would love that.
